The hotel looks great from the street and lobby. The front staff are friendly and quite helpful. They made the stay! The elevators are old and have an alarming delay before settling onto a floor and opening the doors. A spilled milky drink remained in the elevator for a while without being cleaned up. The room is spacious, but the bathroom is tiny. We had to move the small trashcan to make room for our feet when on the toilet. The bathroom door can’t open all the way because it hits the shower, so the space for a person to get ready is as wide as a door. This is not a bathroom for overweight people! We had to request a hair dryer and then had a hard time convincing the housekeeping staff that the room didn’t have one to start with. They didn’t want to leave until we gave them the broken dryer (even though we didn’t report one broken). We were out of the room from 11:30 am to 6:30 pm, but received no room cleaning in that time frame. Luckily we started with four towels and were able to make them stretch for all showers. Trashcans are small, so they were quite full by the time we checked out. The location is great and getting around was easy. The 4-star rating applies to the ground floor and not the guest rooms or facility.

We had a great stay! The maid came by everyday to give us fresh towels and make the bed. The bar in the lobby has great bartenders, and the breakfast food was great too! Next time we come back to New Orleans we’ll definitely stay here again!

We stayed at the Hyatt Centric for 3 nights. The staff was great in all areas, front desk/reception, dining and bar, and outdoor reception, transportation services and local information. We asked for directions to the Superdome on our first day and we were lucky enough to have one of the staff literally walk us down the street to show us the way, just so nice! We had breakfast on one day and dinner on our last night. The food was very good. We enjoyed the beignets with chocolate sauce for breakfast and the crab croquettes and gumbo for dinner. The hotel gives guests a free drink which was nice after a long walk exploring the local area on day one. Being able to walk to the Superdome for the football game was perfect as was easy access to bourbon and canal streets. The rooms are a good size, clean and have everything we needed. Some rooms face canal street, we had one the first night and it was too noisy for us. We asked for another room and we were accommodated right away. Overall we were happy with our choice to stay at Hyatt Centric.

We enjoyed our stay at the Hyatt. We chose the room with courtyard/pool access and loved that we were steps from the pool. We loved the high ceilings and living area in our room. The staff went above and beyond to help us and were very friendly. The lobby was beautiful and loved that there was a large bar. We would definitely come back!
