Very lovely old hotel with wonderful front desk staff, funky old NOLA surroundings and well located in the FQ. Loved the private courtyards and pool. As a single woman traveling I felt very safe. The hotel itself is a little tired …. But really my only complaint was the old shower in the bathroom, didn’t work well, unable to switch from shower to bath and drain did not close. Overall a lovely stay.

The Olivier House Hotel is very beautiful. On the inside it’s very cute I loved the decor and the vibes, my room was also cute it had its own little touch of vintage decor as well. They also had a few cats that I assume live there it made me love the place more. Definitely was a stay to remember and they had complimentary tea and coffee and cookies too !!

You can hear Bourbon Street in the distance. It looks like something from Interview with a Vampire, which was fantastic for us! We loved it and wish we could have stayed longer.

The staff went above and beyond to make our stay wonderful. Our room had a living room, bar and kitchen with the bed and bathroom in a loft. So charming! We had a view of the pool from the front. Coffee and water were available all day. The staff had excellent dining and tourist recommendations.

A Quiet Place

The Olivier House, located one-half block from Bourbon Street, is a gareway to the excitement of the French Quartet as well as a quiet refuge from it. Inside, the common areas provide large and small areas for conversation, sipping the excellent house coffee, or quiet reflection. The staff are knowledgeable and ready to help. The two hotel cats are quite friendly. The guest rooms are clean, comfortable, and well appointed.

General review: Beautiful decoration and 3 lovely cats on premise [hello Magnolia and Tajie (sp?) who was the employer of the month]. The decoration is like out of a fairy tale. Each floor has a balcony area for people to sit and enjoy the view of New Orleans. We enjoy the walk through the hotel every time we exit and come back. There's a bit of quirkiness in the signages as well in the elevator and staircase :) They provide free water, coffee, and cookies in the kitchen area which is a huge plus. Room review: Pros: We had a quiet room on the 4th floor. Comfy bed, cozy decor, and large, clean bathroom. Cons: The bathroom door was more like a coat closet panel door. No ventilation or way to open the window in the bathroom. No shelves in the shower to put shampoo, face wash, body wash, etc. And the sink is a bit too high up. We would come back again in the future!

Fabulous hotel in French quarter

Extraordinairily gracious hospitality and charm! Funky Victorian decor, fresh coffee and biscotti all day in the parlor, and staff who love the city and offer great advice on music, restaurants, and logistics. Probably the most beautiful and unusual hotel I’ve stayed at in the US apart from the Parker House in Chicago. You can walk easily to points of interest all over downtown. One block from Bourbon Street but quiet, even on Friday night.
