The check in process was super late I understand check-in isn’t till 3 but even at 3 the staff was stating they were not sure they had any rooms available. The room was clean but had a very weird smell to it. Then all night there was kids that the staff was watching scream and did nothing. teenagers yelling outside in the lobby or in the halls due to some dance going on in the area. You couldn’t sleep at all.

We had to change rooms at 2am on day 2 because of a bathroom sewage leak through the vents on the ceiling. Sewage water covered the entire bathroom. No apology, no one came up with towels, nothing!! I went down and asked for a manager every day, no one would respond to me or address the issue. We needed an ADA room, swapped to a non ADA room, and never addressed the issue. I was furious. Shot all over our stuff in the bathroom, kids were asleep, i had to do the entire move myself, and not even a phone call or apology.

The staff was very friendly, but not overly helpful. The room had a few issues. There was a bad smell that never went away. It was a mildew like odor in the sleeping area, but a sewer like smell in the bathroom. The floors were very dirty, leaving our white socks black on the bottom. There was a message light blinking on the phone which the staff couldn't help with (they said to just ignore it). We had to cover it with a towel to sleep. When we arrived too early to check in, they offered to put our bag in a secure storage area. But when we returned they gave us the wrong bag & weren't sure which one was ours. One of the friendly ladies at reception offered to make us a reservation at a restaurant she had suggested for a birthday celebration, even recommending a specific waiter. But we returned to the hotel that afternoon to find that we did not have a reservation (and she was no longer working). And it was too late to get one somewhere else. While the lobby looked beautiful, and the location was OK, we probably wouldn't stay there again.

1/5 — Worst Hotel Experience Ever! We’ve stayed at many hotels, but this was by far the worst experience we’ve ever had. We had to switch rooms three times, and each one had major problems. • Room 1: Couldn’t sleep at all because of loud construction right outside our window that went on all night. • Room 2: Had a water leak from the ceiling, with clear water damage and bubbling paint. • Room 3: The bed sheets were filthy with blood stains and other marks. When we asked for new sheets, they replaced them with ones that still had makeup stains, and the “fresh” towels were dirty too. It was honestly disgusting and disappointing. The staff moved us but never offered any real apology or compensation for the constant issues. To top it off, the photos online are completely misleading the rooms look nothing like what’s shown on the website. This place desperately needs better management and cleaning staff. I would never stay here again and strongly recommend avoiding this hotel.

Would like to see the shower curtain changed out when it has stains or marker ink on it. The ceiling had water damage and the bathroom door handle was broken so you couldn’t lock it and when you twisted it the handle would fall off. Little things need to be repaired so it makes the hotel stand out instead of getting a lower review. The flip side I really appreciated the kind and friendly welcome from the hotel staff at check in. They were very courteous. Thank you

The front desk staff were extremely kind and very helpful. Sadly we stayed in room203 and it wasn’t very well kept. The ceiling has water spot stains ,the shower curtain has permanent black marker drawn on it and the shower has a good bit of mold/mildew. Only one elevator works and it would be very helpful to have large clear signs in the roaming garage labeling where the stairs to the lobby or elevator are for guest unfamiliar with the parking area.

For what it’s worth, the location of the Wyndham is perfect. It’s right downtown, a couple blocks from Bourban, right by everything happening. It’s definitely a budget hotel however, you get what you pay for. The building itself is really cool and pretty, the staff was very helpful. The parking garage was underground and a little sketchy, but what can you expect for NOLA. The staircase out of the garage spelled like straight urine, which was gross. We had an interior bedroom, so no window or natural lighting. Bed was fine, on the hard side. We requested extra pillows but did not receive them. Also the walls are VERY THIN. We were practically participants in the fight the drunk couple had in the room right next to us, it was both amusing and disconcerting. Like I said, there’s definitely the perks of it being one of the cheaper hotels in the vicinity but there’s definitely catches and strings attached. Otherwise, a good experience!
