At Cliffside Retreat, you will find your stay both comfortable and relaxing. Watch the ocean and enjoy the quiet neighborhood in Newport, Oregon. Whether you are looking to wander the local beaches or to spend your days exploring the Oregon coast, you will enjoy coming back to this wonderful home that sleeps 8.

The upper level living area has beautiful views of the Pacific Ocean where you can watch for whales, birds and other local wildlife. Step out on to the deck from the living room and watch one of our spectacular sunsets while enjoying your favorite evening beverage! The open concept living/dining room has exposed beams and is lined with windows, allowing a sunny and bright environment. If a winter storm blows in, cozy up to the wood stove, watch a movie, and see the storm clouds come in off the ocean. Grill up your favorite meal on the deck that is off the dining room or enjoy the well-equipped kitchen that features granite counter tops and stainless-steel appliances. The primary bedroom has its own ensuite bath and ocean views. Let the sound of the ocean lull you to sleep every night. Downstairs are two additional bedrooms with a bath in the hallway. This is the perfect spot to enjoy your time at the Oregon coast!

Go explore the local beach via the "hidden" beach trail wandering down from the neighborhood, visit the Yaquina Head Lighthouse and Natural Area, and shop at Nye Beach or the historic bay front. This is the perfect starting point for many days of exploring Newport and the central Oregon coast!

There is a floor heater in downstairs bedroom with curtains by it.Might be a fire hazard..otherwise very spacious..well stocked..the management was very on top of everything!!! Loved staying there!

We truly enjoyed having a nice home with all the needed supplies. Beds were so nice! View amazing. I am 80 so getting down was not as easy for me as the young ones but, i made it and it was worth every step.

This home could be such a beautiful home but sadly it is not being cared for. It is in desperate need of flooring and windows. The smell of mildew is overwhelming because of water damage.
Holes in kitchen floor.

The house was perfect for our family gathering. The location is great being close to town and shopping. The view was wonderful! (when the fog cleared) Check in was easy with the app and code. Kitchen was well stocked. We just had a few issues but nothing major. Garbage (exterior) from prior tenants had not been picked up and was very stinky, all plugs in upstairs bathrooms did not work and there was a bit of a "doggy" smell when first entering the home. The carpets were quite stained but I realize this is a rental and towards the end of the season. Overall, we would stay at Cliffside Retreat again if we get back to Newport.

The stay was awesome, loved the view and the sound of the ocean at night when kids were in bed. Only issue I had was with VRBO APP. That was their issue, could not get any info i needed like other places Isstayed.

Many nice qualities, but…

This is a nice place in so many ways. It’s as clean as you can get an older home, the location worked well for us, and the communication with the hosts was terrific. The biggest drawback for us was the permeating odor of mold upstairs and downstairs. Now that we have left, our clothes, suitcases, and pillows still smell like it. Also, the occupancy limit should be six people—three couples who will share beds.

Fabulous little gem!

View of the ocean from the family room and master was great. Kitchen had the glasses and cooking items needed for breakfast, nibbles and cocktails. Highly recommend!

Beach House!

We loved the house, it was spacious and clean. The beds were comfortable, the well stocked kitchen was easy to cook in. The beach access was a little tricky for me to navigate, it was about a 10 minute hike for me, but my girls could just run up and down it as easy as could be.

House was ver clean, spacious, and only 5 minutes to beach located on a dead end street so really quiet. Very close to Newport with a variety of restaurants, grocery stores, and gift shops. Don’t forget to visit the aquarium and Hatfield Science Center as well as seals and sea lions at the wharf!to

Comfortable

All was as advertised except the kitchen refrigerator. The stainless steel one shown was tied shut. We were given a very small white one which barely held the groceries we brought (we’re 2 female senior citizens & we didn’t bring a lot of groceries. A family would have a problem.)
