Great Location for the Blackbeard Festival

Overall we had a nice stay and thought it was a nice room with a great view. Largely the service was great. We had an incident where the fire alarm went off at about 2am and no one could provide much of an explanation beyond that it was a "false alarm." It wasn't a big deal, these things happen, but it was still a little disruptive. The biggest problem was the overpriced breakfast buffet. Other than that, we had an enjoyable stay. Very convenient location for the Blackbeard Festival!

Overall, we enjoyed our stay. The hotel is in a great location, the rooms are fairly well-appointed, and they are clean and in good repair. A couple of observations. On the weekend, they have a DJ Pool party that is apparently run by a third party. It is very loud, and the people attending overwhelm the elevators at times. The restaurant is only open a couple of days a week, and is frequently closed for breakfast on the days that it is open. There is an option for breakfast, a short walk away, that is open all the time. We found the front desk staff to be extremely friendly and helpful. Additionally, the housekeeping staff was very helpful and friendly. The coffee, breakfast, and bar staff can use a lesson in hospitality, especially the morning baristas. I'm not sure if they are leftover overnight staff or just rolled out of bed, but our interactions with them was not typical of the rest of the staff, quite unwelcoming. We recommend this hotel and would stay here again. You will enjoy your stay, just ask for a room on the east side of the building away from the pool if your stay involves a weekend!

Parking was very easy, garage was well lit front desk was very friendly and informative. Ambiance of the hotel was very nice. The bar was closed by the time i got there, so i did not get to enjoy. The check in process was very simple. The room itself was updated. . Very nice bathroom shower combo. I loved the moderen furniture. The view was ok.you seee the parking garage and some of the bay. Overall very spacious room. My negatives would be the hvac unit was right above my head do it was quite loud when it engaged on and off. Lastly they need to dust the rooms. There was alot of dust build up on the walls, vents and fire alarms. All that dust needs to be removed when they clean the room. But great stay 👌

Not what expected for a quiet getaway out-of-state. Rufe and loud patrons. One pulled the fire alarm after midnight. Staff did absolutely nothing about it. Loud car revving in the parking lot, which first time ever we had to pay for parking at a place we stayed. Room was beautiful. But would never return.

While looking for the perfect hotel for our family I know we needed to be close to the beach and we also needed a pool. Upon arrival I was handed a sheet of paper with activities on it. On this list were pool hours 8am- 10pm every day. Well additional under that were times for Thursdays-Sunday adult only times. These times took most of the day. We arrived Saturday and staying until Monday morning. When we arrived the pool party was already started. We were On the same level as the party. To have a child and a bunch of half dressed adults you have to fight to use the elevator it’s not a fun time. Now while this was annoying the security was great they were probably the friendliest part of the staff. Sunday we woke up and asked the front desk what time the pool opened as it was already 9am and the door was locked. They told me it was closed until the adults only party started. I was beyond frustrated. Around 11 we decided to go to the beach and bam pool had kids in it. If your staff doesn’t want to be at work and know appropriate schedules then they should stay at home. It was beyond frustrating. Will never stay again and way over priced since we couldn’t use the pool the entire time. If you want to party sure this is the room for you but if you want a kid friendly hotel this is not for you!

Positive: •We had a beautiful view of the marina with a nice walking trail for exercise. •Many restaurants located within walking distance. •Buckroe beach is a short drive from the hotel. Negative: • I always bring my own cleaning products & this time I was thankful that I did. Check-in was at 4p so to me the room should have been spotless. The bathroom was gross with stuff left in the sink and on the wall. I didn’t complain because I would rather clean it myself at that point. •The parking garage is awful. If you drive a large vehicle, good luck getting in there without tearing something up because the clearance is 6’ 7”. Also, the parking lot is not for guest only so there was a lot of times where I felt very unsafe with my small children as intoxicated guest were leaving the hotel events and cussing/hitting on females that were walking alone in the garage. How about an EXTRA $25 fee to park in there that nobody told us about? •This hotel is NOT children friendly unless you run a tight schedule. My kids never got to use the pool because it was cold at 10a and there were adult only events from 2p-10p that served alcohol at the pool so my kids couldn’t be there. •The elevator congestion is AWFUL because it is utilized by guest and non-guest. We were told to wait by people that weren’t even guest there and there was a lot of loitering outside by underage males who looked like they were probably up to no good. I’m sure they make money, but this is not a place to relax.

I’ve stayed at this property before and overall, it’s a solid choice. The room I had this time was fair, though the bathroom layout felt a bit tighter compared to other rooms I’ve experienced at this hotel. The rooftop pool party added a nice vibe, but it did create congestion on the second floor, making it difficult to move through that area. The elevators can be slow at times, but they get the job done. Still a generally good stay with a few areas for improvement.

I do front desk fanatics explain to me how to work on television which was off air there was a water bug in the room the doors the bathroom were greasy fingers and being a princess all over basically the rule was disgusting dirty. Room was not swept piles of dirt and corners pockets of the room

Although the staff were friendly and helpful, the tricky parking garage was not fun. But the worst part of the stay was the NOISE. The air conditioner in the room, right over the bed was so loud I could not sleep with it on. And the pool parties on Saturday and Sunday created a racket that prevented me from being able to occupy the room, and their noise permeated all the public areas inside the hotel as well. I do not recommend this hotel at this time.
