3rd time staying at Oban. Enjoy it there…nice and relaxing. Booked a King room, but was given a small room with a Double or Queen bed. I went back down to reception and they gladly switched me to the King room I booked. TV system needs an upgrade. No access to Netflix or any streaming services. Despite this, I’ll be coming back again next time I stay over in NOTL.

Staff were very curtious. Room was warm , the bed was very comfortable. The room was small with a tiny tv. The shower was efficient but needs some TLC. I was disappointed that there was no Christmas tree or decorations. That was part of why we were there..as a Christmas getaway.

The Oban Inn is a lovely hotel ideally located in the downtown area of off Niagara on the Lake. It is a short walk to the shops and dining options. The rooms are not large, but very cozy and clean. The dinning room has a wonderful ambiance. The breakfast is good, not cheap but competitive with similar hotels. The fitness centre is small but very adequate. We have only stayed in the cooler months so cannot comment on the pool. Being an older building the sound insulation is not the best with plumbing noises from adjacent rooms and some footstep noise from the rooms above. However, all was quiet for a good nights sleep.

Check in staff was cool… not especially welcoming. We had been recommended the hotel from friends who had previously stayed here. It was a little disappointing. We went to the bar after dinner ( dinner was off site) intending to have a nightcap but the gas fireplace was off and nothing seemed very inviting about the space so we just went to our room instead. At 8:40 pm in December the space could have been animated but sadly wasn’t.

We stayed at the Oban Inn for the first time, mid-week. The deluxe king room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. We did not eat at the restaurant as the prices were quite high and other local restaurants offered better value. Our only issue was the hotel was doing some renovations during our stay beside our room and so hammering at 9am without any notice wasn't appreciated.

Room was clean, quiet and very comfortable. The staff was very accomadating. The only thing I would recommend is to have some music piped into the diningroom. Voices echo which makes having a private conversation difficult.
