Our 3rd time staying at Dunston Hall and it was amazing as always! This time we brought our dog for the first time. We weren’t advised about £25 charge for pets until check out. More than happy to pay but informing us upon check in would have been better service. Other than that small issue, we had a lovely stay and will definitely be back.

Extremely overpriced for the condition of the hotel and facilities. The bed was very uncomfortable, there were two in our room and both mattresses need replacing, they were very hard and you could feel the springs. The rooms were not very soundproof so you could hear anyone walking past in the corridor, walking in the room above yours, opening doors etc. There was no hairdryer in the room which is very poor for such an expensive hotel, I was unable to wash my hair ahead of a wedding. The rooms need some refurbishment, there were paint and grout issues and the curtain pelmet was half falling off. The breakfast was nice but the service was poor. The grounds and hotel building are nice but overall I wouldn’t stay again given the poor facilities for the price of the hotel.

Nice hotel, helpful staff...good base for touring

We stayed for two nights in August B&B as part of a mini break to the East of England. All staff were welcoming and helpful. The room had a king size bed and the bathroom was large and adequately supplied. Breakfast was a good choice of pastries and hot buffet...dining at 8.15am meant we had no problem with queues or choice of food. The only thing that could have been better was the lack of air conditioning, as our room was very warm on both nights of our stay although a fan was provided upon request.

I wish we could have stayed for longer!

We really enjoyed our trip to Dunston Hall and our only regret is that we couldn't stay for longer! We were really impressed with the size of the swimming pool and the fact that there was a separate section for lane swimming. The breakfast was really nice, with a great choice and it was lovely to have a big bed to sleep in!

Lovely hotel. Room was clean and staff were friendly. But the door by the lift, located just outside our room, was extremely squeaky. Not sure who was walking around at 3 a.m., but the noise kept me up all night. Unfortunately, I couldn’t sleep well because of it. Hopefully it'll be fixed!!

Broken shower head support, which resulted in the shower head falling and landing on my foot whilst taking a shower. Very fortunately only slightly grazed a couple of my toes as I moved them out of the way very quickly but could also have very easily broken them. Reported it to Reception who apologised and reported it to their maintenance team, but no gesture of any goodwill or follow up from Management to make sure everything was OK which is very poor. Obviously it could have been much much worse!!

One night stay. Family room, two double beds. Mattress could give more support and the pillows are big and flumpy. Not our preference, but he ho. Kids loved the pool, and breakfast is amazing. Final finishing detail decorating wise is lacking some, rough cutting of floor in bathroom and more. Amazing staff all through.

This 3 night stay was for our 25th anniversary. Upon arrival we checked in to be told we had to pay £50 holding charge which we have never had to do always pay at the end of our stay we also paid for our evening meal which was discounted from £32 to £27 so we took advantage of this. We ordered our evening meal whiz we had already looked at the menu at home and decided for our special anniversary then 10 minutes after ordering was told they had ran out of the lamb, our meal was booked for 6.30pm so was amazed at this also that the kitchen staff didn’t no what was available. I then asked for a steak but for the same price as the lamb but was offered 10% off so I had to settle for pie. Although the meal was of good quality upon leaving we was asked to pay and when we told we had paid upfront already Charlie looked and said it hadn’t and that the bill needed to be paid before we left which I refused to pay twice. We had an upgraded room with outside seats which wasn’t really an upgrade the seats were soaked, ripped and very used as were the outside doors looked in such poor condition even the lock didn’t work. The bed was in awful condition needed a new mattress and a valance so not to notice the beds poor outdated condition the bed sheets had holes it which I will send photo and also the bathroom seal was mouldy and split so looks black again I will send photos. All in all a very poor dated room room and unfortunately our 25th anniversary was disappointing at this hotel. Regard
