Parking at the back was hard to find, but safe area. Lovely quirky pub and room. Food here was lovely especially the breakfast. My room was in the front by the main road, some traffic news but didn’t ruin my sleep.

Lovely hotel and excellent value for money

This is my second review for this trip - first one for check in experience and first night..I was a little concerned that the extractor fan would kee me awake but in fact it went off just after 10.30 and thereafter it was really quiet in the room. The bed was really comfortable and the blind and curtains blocked out any light very efficiently. The room was very clean and the shower powerful and hot with nice toiletries. Breakfast this morning was very good indeed and fantastic value for money. Given that this was included in the room rate this stay was excellent in terms of price and I would thoroughly recommend the hotel and stay there again

Lovely pub/restaurant/hotel, which has successfully blended the old with the new. Staff service excellent. Food tasty and well presented. Dog friendly. Nearby footpaths and country parks close by and immediate area is nice to explore. One small negative - stable room bathroom needs a bit of a refresh.

Have been a few times and like the area as old town Like the Bull Hotel but this time was disappointed with cleaning but understand the floor boards get very dusty and it is a old building Staff are very nice Breakfast is okay but did not like the mushrooms and only half a black pudding

Room was clean and tidy. Breakfast and food were very good. Only problem being that there were no towels in the room. Luckily the store cupboard was open so could grab a clean one from there.

I've stayed here a few times now and whilst i do enjoy staying here my room on this last trip was a let down. I get the impression this room had not been used in a while. There was no coffee in the room, the toilet smelt stagnant (as did the water from the tap) rhe toilet paper on the holder had 4 sheets left on it. The room had not been dusted for some time (there was dust on top of the kettle, the bin next to the sink is so beaten up it looks like its been used as a football in the car park and when showering i had to turn it off and wait for the water to drain away as it is blocked.

Short weekend

Our stay was quick but we loved the setup, feels like a room in a house. The breakfast was amazing, service was great. Our room was dusty though. My son and I both have Hayfever and mildly suffered.

Stayed for our 30 anniversary, the staff went above and beyond to help us celebrate. Food is brilliant lots to chose from, and very well cooked. Great breakfast menu, nothing is too much for the staff, will definitely be staying again, room is very clean and tidy, great location, nice selection at bar, keep up the good work. Highly recommend, 5 stars. Keep up the good work.

My partner and I came here for our 4 year anniversary with our Westie, Stanley. Overall, we cannot fault the place! The room we had was lovely and spacious, the food was beautiful and the staff were all extremely accommodating and helpful, especially to our Stanley. Stanley has thoroughly enjoyed his stay and has been spoilt rotten by the staff! We cannot thank you all enough for how welcome and comfortable you made us feel! We've already rebooked for my birthday in December 😊
