We have been renting homes in the Hollywood Beach/ Strand area for 15 years, and have had varying experiences with the layout, condition, and preparation of the homes by the owners for guests. With this particular rental, there was very little effort put forth in the stocking, and preparation of the home. We ended up taking multiple trips to the store to purchase basics such as paper towels, and trash bags. In addition we purchased other needed things such as a hair dryer, cooking utensils,and curtains for the upstairs bathroom, to provide some privacy for our other guests. Other noted items, were the mostly expired cooking products in the pantry, and worn out bed linens and towels. On the upside, the home has a beautiful layout, and is in an excellent location. Our overall all impressions was that minimal effort was put forth into preparing the home for us, which was unfortunate because we traveled from out of state.

We rented this home for a short time, and although the walls had some impressive decorations, the actual furniture left much to be desired. We have rented four homes on the coast, two in Ventura and two up near Pismo beach. This home far and away was not a favorite and we would like to explain why. 1. The furniture was incredibly old, and a fold-out bed on the third floor? Thought this was cheap, the linens were worn and torn. The pillows were disgusting with stains and odors. The outdoor furniture was crawling with spiders. The bar stools were unstable. 2. There were no window coverings in the bathrooms or even in the main spaces like the living rooms and kitchen. Was this intentional???3. Having to wash towels and gather up bedding before we leave, this was unacceptable for the price we paid. We should have stayed at a local hotel, enjoyed our time there and could leave without cleaning. Any what was the cleaning fee for if I needed to start this process? Having to ask your guests to clean up before they leave....was embarrassing. 3. The late check-in and you count this as a day you pay for in full? The early check-out of 10:00 AM spent cleaning instead of enjoying the last few hours. 4. Now, I did not intend on watching television, but it can be relaxing before going to sleep, but NON of the televisions worked, at all. Consider taking a close look at what people enjoy My advice is replace all of the bedding, and place a real bed in the third floor bedroom.

Slice of heaven!

This home was our “refuge & sanctuary “ while our home was being repaired. We could’ve asked for a more perfect location & beautiful home. My dog loved the sunrise walks & we all loved the sunset on the upper deck. Heaven. Truly. I feel very lucky to have been able to stay here. Thank you Stephanie! You & Daniel were amazing.

Great Beach Location especially for swimming.

The house was cute and eclectic. It was very cool to have 3 stories. The outdoor space was great. The host was kind, responsive and helpful. I gave four stars because the mildew smell on the first floor and in the second floor bedroom made our stay less enjoyable. Some of the kitchen supplies used for baking and cooking could use some updating. The furniture was just a little worn in some areas.

Wonderful stay!

We had the best time at this property! It was very clean, the kitchen was fully stocked, and they had lots of activities for the kids. My daughter loved sleeping in the bunk beds! It was such a short walk to the beach and they had so many beach toys and chairs to use. The ping pong table was awesome too! There were numerous outdoor patios that were amazing too! Our family loved it!

Beautiful 3 story beach home

This home is completely stocked with almost everything you need besides yourselves and your clothing. It is very well maintained, beautiful decor. It is in very close walking distance to the beach, literally down the street. It is a long walk once you get to the sand, but very reasonable to not have to drive. We ordered VONS delivery that showed up within a half an hr of arrival so we didn’t have to go grocery shopping for the week that we stayed. Valuable times saved! Toppers pizza is always a favorite when you do want to have a night off from cooking. Stephanie was absolutely great by text if I needed anything which I didn’t after we got there. She was very attentive to me prior to our arrival, which was extremely helpful. The home is very easy to maintain, with 3 outdoor patios and a sunroom that we found absolutely fun for family night games. This is a beautifully Decorated Home and the beds were very comfortable. Each of the 3 levels has your own private bedroom, which is great when you bring a large family or if you wanted to bring more than one couple. The bottom level has two bedrooms, one of them has triple bunkbeds & a queen, which is great when you have children. I can’t say enough positive things about this house. Definitely want to come back & if I could have stayed longer, we would have. Thank you for the hospitality Stephanie and letting my family enjoy this vacation getaway. It was perfect in every way. I also appreciate that the home offered a weekly discount

We had a wonderful stay at Stephanie’s place. We booked very last minute while our house was being worked on. She was super responsive and accommodating. We were even able to arrange a late check out while they finished up work at our house. The neighborhood was lovely, we did a lot of walking through the harbor and the beach was beautiful. Highly recommend!

Perfect Beach Weekend

I booked the beach house to celebrate my birthday with family. The beach house did not disappoint. The property is clean and well maintained. The property felt very homey. It was nice to sit on the decks and hear the ocean sounds. The family I invited had a great time and we all space and comfortable sleeping and bathroom arrangements. We look forward to revisiting soon.

Wonderful family getaway

This was a perfect house for our Labor Day family getaway. Plenty of space for the 9 of us. So close to the beach where we spent all of Saturday. You need to let the bbq really heat up because it is tied into the house gas line, no propane tank. The showers take a few minutes to get hot water, but there was plenty of hot water for all 3 showers. The house was decorated in a beach theme and very clean. We were close to everything. Had lunch at Sea Fresh and miniature golfing on Sunday. We were surprised when our 4 year grandson discovered inside kid toys in the downstairs bedroom. Lots and lots of beach toys and extra stuff. Everyone enjoyed using the boogie boards and paddle board. Plenty of beach towels. Would love to come back in the future.

It works!

Overall….the house worked for us. Location isn’t the best…as you really do have to drive & park to go to the beach…& it’s a deep beach. I think the BBQ needs to be replaced….it never gets hot enough….& you can’t have the gas dryer on while BBQing…they share the gasoline. Do I have a refund deposit coming to me ?
