Staff were super nice. Room was nice. Food was terrible. We ate at the hotel when we arrived around 1pm. Everything we ordered tasted like it was prepared hours ago and not fresh. From the calamari to the fries. Everything dry, stale and cold. It was really bad for such a hotel name and destination. We gave the hotel food a second chance and ordered room service at 8pm our third night. Again cold chicken wings that were so dry n tasted like they were prepared at noon or leftover from day before. Not worth the price we paid for this hotel…

The staff is a mixed bag and not very friendly except a handful. They treated me and my family very rudely at the pool when we went to the beach for approx 15 minutes and threw away everything from our chairs, when everyone was doing the same thing. They provided mis information about local travel details, they also caused a massive headache and mess when checking out! I do not recommend !!!

The property was obviously recently redone and the staff was fantastic. Especially Daniel and Serge at the bar and beach respectively. Also the spa facilities were outstanding. Great recommendations from the staff for dinner options off the property. Dinner at the hotel was not great. Also we were charged a 50 daily resort fee...which came as a surprise on check out. Beach was great.

Nice hotel but big gaps in service and audience

This is fairly new hotel in good condition. However it’s very remote and getting a taxi isn’t easy or cost effective. If you want to stay in the hotel all the time then that’s ok. Food offering and quality was poor this was our biggest issue. My husband also got food poisoning on our first evening was sick for two days and had to see the doctor. The manager though was very helpful even though after three days we decided to leave and go elsewhere. So overall for us the location didn’t work nor the food offering. Nice facilities but expensive for what it is lots of hidden charges as well.

The hotel has an excellent location, the view from our room was awesome and the property is new and clean. It was a bit too cold in the restaurants and corridors on floor 1. There is also room for improvement with regard to entertainment and sport activities options in the hotel, especially for children and teenagers. Overall, the hotel is great.

We had a great time.in St. MARTIN, the JW Marriott was very clean and new , the staff were very friendly the food was excellent, but only 2 restaurants so you need to go out to eat.for some change. The beach is nice sandy but a bit small and the water is rough, which we were ok with. We went to other near by beaches as almost everyone was doing at this resort. Its easy to rent a car and they will bring it to your hotel. The staff at frot desk are very helpful. The hotel was very clean and new good staff , good coffee. It could use anothern restaurant or dinning option. Thank.you Marriot

If you’re traveling to St. Maarten exclusively to enjoy the pool and beach, this resort is fine, but it is nothing special and I wouldn’t stay here again. Starting with the pros, the resort is impeccably clean and the rooms are very modern. All of the staff we encountered were very pleasant and helpful – especially the pool/Breeze staff and Kevin at the lobby bar. The jerk chicken wings on the room service menu were phenomenal! The location of the hotel is the #1 con. It’s located in Oyster Pond, up/down several very steep hills, with virtually nothing else around. If you want to leave the resort, you’ll NEED to take a taxi and taxis in SXM are not cheap. We paid $70 round trip for (2) people to go a 20 minute drive from the hotel to Grand Case for nightlife. There is one restaurant nearby, Big Fish (excellent food and service), but it is not safe to walk there due to the hills, lack of sidewalks and street lights. The hotel itself is nice and well-maintained, but it did not look like any other Marriott resort I’ve ever visited. The interior looked much more like a conference hotel in the middle of a boring city than a Caribbean island resort. It was very lackluster. I paid for a “Resort View” room and the photos online showed rooms facing the pool. Unfortunately, our room view faced trees and the hotel next door. The balcony was right above a terrace where children would play beginning very early in the morning. The walls were also very thin. We could hear everything!

The hotel was really beautiful, modern and clean. The staff were really friendly, attentive and super helpful. The only thing to consider is the location - It’s not really close to anything so it takes 20 - 30 minutes to get around to places. But there are plenty of taxis on site so if you want a mix of quiet relaxation and activity, it just might be your best bet. Other than that, it’s an amazing hotel, and we had a great time!
