We arrived 20 minutes before the scheduled check in time and stood in the rain for 30 minutes before a very kind tenant of the apartment complex let us into the lobby. I then spent over 3 hours on the phone with Expedia personnel before they finally told me that the accommodations “luxury Penthouse with a view….”, which I had paid for 6 months earlier had been cancelled (without notification to me) by the agency Expedia contracted with. Expedia did promptly refund the full amount I paid, but that was short of the cost to rebook at another property. Expedia did not offer to help with finding the replacement accommodations.
Tough start to a 4 day international trip to Paris.
