Under Kiwi bach tradition guests bring their own linen (Towels, teatowels, sheets and pillowcases). This allows us to keep the cost to guests lower.
However we can supply linen if you wish. This involves a charge of $200 which can be reduced to $150 if you are happy to make up your own beds.
Cleaning is included in the cost.
There is an air pump which can cool or warm the living area as required. There are two separate living areas - one with the television/DVD player, one for those who want to talk. There is an HDMI cable to connect to your laptop.
We are 100 metres across a reserve to the estuary where we swim and kayak 2 hours either side of high tide. Our bach looks out to the skyline of the Coromandel Ranges and we enjoy spectacular sunsets.
There is an outdoor entertaining area which is great for BBQs. Shopping area, skateboard bowl, basketball court, minigolf and golf courses are all within a few minutes walk. For younger children there is a playground within view and close enough to call children home for dinner. there is also a skatepark 3 minutes walk away. Fishing from the wharf at Royal Billy Point is a popular activity, as is jumping off the path to the wharf.
For those who are keen on more active pursuits there are 2 adult bikes with helmets and 2 small children's bikes. There are 3 sit-in kayaks and 2 children's sit-on kayaks all with life jackets. The ocean beach is a short drive or a 15 minute walk away. The challenge of climbing Mt Pauanui before breakfast motivates some!
If you just want to chill, the outlook is wonderfully relaxing. The birdlife along the estuary on those late afternoon walks is always fascinating. Just out of view, but actually very close, are the Waterways canals.
The famous Hot Water Beach is a 45 minute drive away and Cathedral Cove is less than an hour's drive .
(Note: The map shows a lake. It used to be a lake many years ago but is actually a reserve between the house and the water.)
