Beyond expectation cannot wait to return for my next trip to Philadelphia. This is a great experience if you’re looking for something that not the normal chain hotel.

This is a beautifully decorated, historic home in a quiet neighborhood with many local dining options nearby. La Reserve staff was friendly, knowledgeable and kind. All the important touches were provided. Many neighbors take pride in decorating with outdoor flower boxes on their homes exteriors. Reminded me of London and Charleston.

Nice room, clean and comfortable. Wonderful, walkable neighborhood. We felt welcomed and comfortable by the manager (Maja) when we arrived. She was terrific. I wish she had been part of the next day’s crew - no one showed up to prepare breakfast (this IS supposed to be a Bed & BREAKFAST) … many guests got fed up waiting and had to go out to purchase breakfast elsewhere. No adjustments in price were offered for this inconvenience. What should have been a very enjoyable visit turned out to be disappointing. I expect this does not happen very often (especially because Maja was a magnificent hostess), but I do believe there should be an apology (and a partial refund) forthcoming from management. I hope they do the right thing - that would make me eager to return. Without that, I would never return to or recommend staying there.

An old building full of charm in a nice neighbourhood about a 15 minute walk from City Hall. My room was on the 4th floor, there was no elevator and the shared areas were hot. The room was in setting with the rest of the building, it had a ceiling fan and AC unit, both were quiet and effective. There was no fridge, microwave or TV which was a little disappointing. There were 2 bottles of water though. I arrived at 1:30pm and my room was available which was great. The bed was comfortable and the room was very quiet during the night which meant a good nights sleep. The bathroom was outside, adjacent to my room and was shared with one other room but the door wouldn’t fully close which wasn’t ideal. There was a nice dining room and a good breakfast was provided. When checking out I was able to leave my luggage for a few hours, and during my 2 nights there the staff couldn’t have been more friendly and helpful. Definitely a good option for a stay in Philadelphia.

Fantastic location on a lovely, tree-lined street near Rittenhouse Square. The rooms are a little worn, but clean and spacious. The breakfast is simpler than what is pictured on the website, but more than adequate. Philly has no shortage of great food, so you’ll still leave town well fed!

Nice place, excellent location. Breakfast is continetal with what you would expect for that kind of breakfast. Wish it was more upscale with cooked hot brekfast. Older building but nice.

Charming Bed & Breakfast in the heart of the city!

What a place! Such a cool bed and breakfast in the heart of the city! It was clean, quiet and peaceful and the room was nice (despite being the only room that wasn’t color coordinated) the breakfast was basic but some items were really good like the fresh fruit, coffee cake and muffin. The staff was friendly and helpful. The place is creaky and possibly haunted but that just adds to the charm. I love this place and would definitely come back.

My wife and I enjoyed our 2 night stay at La Reserve. Our unit was large and comfortable. The Rittenhouse Square was interesting, and we felt safe. Our bathroom rug was not clean, and the breakfast area could use a good cleaning. Staff was all helpful. We would return if staying in Philadelphia again.

This was the 3rd time we have stayed at La Reserve and we were very excited to be back. In the past, I would have always given La Reserve 5 stars but something was off this year. Our studio was lovely and had all the amenities that we expected. But there was a definite difference in the way La Reserve was managed this time. While we expected to enjoy a continental breakfast, we were disappointed in the offerings. It seemed like the baked items could have been picked up at Costco and just put on a sideboard. We felt as if we were annoying the staff when asking about milk. During the breakfast hours one morning, a handyman came in and dropped off his supplies right behind us. Then proceeded to hang around the kitchen door while the guests were trying to have a quiet breakfast. The table linens had crumbs and the coffee and tea water were not hot. We were so disappointed that on our last full day at La Reserve we chose to walk to a lovely cafe, Good Karma Cafe, and have a light breakfast there instead. Later that same day, I discovered that one of our unused towels for showering was either dirty or stained but I needed to use it as it was all that was available at the moment. I did receive a replacement but by then we were leaving for the day. Separately, these seem like minor issues, but together it felt like a pattern of losing focus on the guests. We aren't sure if we'll stay at La Reserve again, but for now, sadly, we won't be recommending it to family or friends.
