The newly updated 3 bedroom, 2 bath Assistant Keeper's House 2 features new paint, carpet, flooring, drapes and bathroom fixtures. Fully stocked kitchen with pots & pans, utensils, mixing bowls, cutting boards, measuring cups, coffee maker, toaster, blender and more.
The space
This newly updated three bedroom, two bath Assistant Keeper's House #2 is a classic family home that sleeps six. The interior was painted, new carpet installed in the living and bedroom areas and new laminate flooring in the kitchen and dining room. New drapes and drapery hardware were installed in all rooms and both bathrooms received new vanity lighting, mirrors, shower curtains and rods. This home features two queen beds and two twin beds, all with Tempur-Pedic mattresses, and an electric fireplace in the master bedroom. There is a wood burning stove in the living room (we provide the wood), flat screen TV, DishTV, DVD player with copies of the movies that have been filmed at the Lighthouse, comfortable couches and chairs and excellent high speed WiFi. You are welcome to use the picnic table outside of the kitchen and dining room. The home comfortably accommodates up to six adults and the kitchen is stocked accordingly with pots & pans, utensils, mixing bowls, cutting boards, measuring cups, coffee maker, toaster, blender, etc. We provide salt and pepper, bring your own spices, cooking oils, foil, plastic wrap and/or storage containers. The Pacific Ocean is out your front and back doors, the coastal mountain range and Manchester State Beach are just to the east and you are only a few steps away from the Point Arena Light Station Store. Guests have unlimited access to our 23 acre Outdoor Museum. Visit our Light Station Store and Indoor Museum, housed in the historic 1896 Fog Signal Building and containing the original 1st Order Fresnel lens from the 1908 Tower, anytime between 10 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. daily. Tours of the Lighthouse Tower can be arranged by checking with the Light Station Store Associate at the store counter. Tours are conducted around every 20 minutes with the first Tour at 10:15 a.m. and the last around 4 p.m. Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day, 3 p.m. the rest of the year. A complimentary bottle of Husch wine and Mendocino Chocolate Company chocolates will be waiting for you on the dining room table. This house is pet friendly for up to 2 pets.
Guest access
Guests may come and go at any time, the front entry gates are closed but not locked outside of our business hours. All of our rentals include unlimited access to our 23 acre Outdoor Museum. Visit our Light Station Store and Indoor Museum, housed in the historic 1896 Fog Signal Building and containing the original 1st Order Fresnel lens from the 1908 Tower, anytime between 10 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. daily (4:30 p.m. Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day). Tours of the Lighthouse Tower can be arranged by checking with the Light Station Store Associate at the store counter. Tower Tours are conducted every 30 minutes with the first Tour at 10:15 a.m. and the last at 3:45 p.m. You will also find a welcome gift bottle of Husch Vineyards wine and chocolates from Mendocino Chocolate Company waiting for you in the room.
Other things to note
We have a 3-night minimum on holiday periods including Memorial, Labor Day and Presidents Day weekends, and the 4th of July and Christmas-New Years period. The Thanksgiving holiday (Thursday through Sunday) is a 4-night minimum.

We are on a septic system, so we ask that you not put anything other than toilet paper in the toilets and that you do not pour any grease down the drains.

There is a friendly lighthouse cat on the property named Arena Mina. Please do not let Mina into your unit, we need to be able to find her at the end of the day to put her safely away for the night.
