It felt like price fixing and we paid way too much

This hotel is very dated, with fixtures from the 1990s. The bathroom walls had streaks on them near the toilet area. The carpets smelled. The exterior of the windows had not been cleaned since the winter dirt and dust accumulated - you could barely see out of them, especially at night, then - breakfast. Coffee was not drinkable, there were English muffins, bagels, toast, three kinds of sugary cereal and some bananas, apples and clementines. We were charged per person, at a rate almost double the weekly rate because it was a weekend, then the check in employee had me sign a copy of the bill - the hotels.com fees were almost 100.00 for two nights, on top of the rates paid to the hotel. Never again.

The hotel is currently undergoing rennovation, but that was not a problem. The lobby, breakfast area, and room were super clean (much cleaner than any higher end property where I've stayed), and quiet. The front desk is often unattended, but that is understandable given the time of year (school starting), and the impact from US tarrifs killing the Canadian tourism sector. Finally, the breakfast offering is rather limited, but they do utilize all of the space that they have for that so it was not an issue. All in all I would highly recommend this property.

Nice place to stay.

This was a short visit. reasonably pricednfor an overnight stay. The room was clean and comfortable. Hotel was quiet even though our room was near the stairs . The only dissapointment was there was a King sized bed with 4 small pillows definitly needed bigger pillows. The place was conviently located to the Portland area and the Freeport shopping area and plenty of restaurants in the area. I would stay here again.

If you’re looking for a super clean, up to date, comfy room, look elsewhere. We were in a room that was in serious need of a deep cleaning and a remodel. The bed was comfortable, but otherwise, this wasn’t a great stay. There was no place to sit in the room or in the hotel to just relax or read a book even—the lobby was only open for morning check ins and breakfast. Otherwise, you have to call and the (onsite?) person will help.

The bathroom shower was noisy and when put to full shower a lot of water still came from the tub spout. Not having 24hr desk service is uncommon for me. Property is going thru a makeover and looks good.

Hotel renovated by amateurs. So many defects. Room carpet was not clean. Tried to get another room but the other one was worst. We stayed because it was too much trouble to change at 8:00pm but would not go back.
