No restaurant on site so you have to use hotel next door. I booked a room with a balcony but given a room on the third floor with patio doors but no balcony. We are also in the middle of a coronavirus pandemic in th UK and the room was not clean so I had to clean myself with antibacterial wipes.

Fantastic price in a great location.

Pros: Staff, bar area, parking, price and location.
Cons: Renovation of the hallways.
Location: Right on the seafront close to pier and Southsea shops and restaurants. Would be fantastic in the Summer.
Last minute booking and found this great deal. Spot on location with room looking out over the sea. Free parking - always a nice bonus. The staff were great, really helpful and friendly. The communal areas including the bar were very good and comfortable. Sold gluten free beer which shows that the managers have their finger on the pulse, Room was clean and tidy. Recently renovated bathroom. But this is a Victorian era building and the hallways were tired and there was no air con. However at this price I had no complaints at all.

Nice hotel close to good bus service

Cons: Room too hot. Helpful if clearer whether cost of breakfast included in price.
Friendly and helpful staff. Nice place in good location.

Great hotel

Fourth time I've stayed here. The rooms are spotless and the staff friendly and efficient. Ask for a room away from the entrance as it can be a bit noisy due to functions being held. Excellent breakfast with plenty of variety offered. But don't expect to be able to use the car park - it's tiny, but there's not much the hotel can do about it.

overnight stay

An old Victorian seaside hotel in the process of being up graded e.g. our bedroom had been renewed, but the bathroom hadn't. The food in the restaurant was good ,but pricey. The staff were attentive and helpful..Reminded us of our childhood seaside holidays prewar!! Overall a bit too pricey
