The Villa is a bit of an institution. It has been a restaurant and hotel since my childhood and I returned to stay there in a visit to friends. The reception staff were warm and welcoming. The room I had was comfortable and well stocked with refreshments. Breakfast was traditional and food cooked to order - none of the overcooked and limp looking buffet food you get elsewhere. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. I understand that the place is up for sale and I hope that any new owners will not turn it into a crazily expensive spa or similar that would not be in keeping with its personality.

Not what I expected. I booked last minute due to work. Nothing luxurious, very old dated and dirty room. Had to use wet wipes to clean the bathroom. Overly priced for no reason including the restaurant. Rooms so cold had to have air con on all night and felt unwell next morning. I could have done with asking for a refund. Absolutely disappointed. Will not recommend anyone to stay here.

Lovely peaceful place for night away

Lovely welcome at the reception . Very busy with a wedding on ,but as that’s in a separate place we were not affected at all . Tasty and reasonably priced evening meal in the restaurant and good breakfast the next morning. Hot breakfast came a little too quickly in fact while still finishing cereals ! All in all a lovely night away , especially sitting in the front garden with drinks in the sunshine during the afternoon 🌅

Wow what an amazing hotel tucked away in Wrea Green, itself a very pretty village with a duck pond surrounded by yellow Irises. Our room was amazing and the whole place felt so warm and inviting. I’ve stayed in 4 & 5 star hotels before and even I was surprised and impressed by breakfast being delivered to our table by four waiters with white silver service gloves. A real gem hidden in countryside 15 minutes from Blackpool Zoo.

A beautiful traditional property in lovely grounds. We were welcomed by a friendly efficient receptionist. The room was a good size, bed comfortable, shower over the bath was powerful. Tea coffee and biscuits provided and small toiletries in the bathroom. The breakfast was excellent, buffet starter then we had smoked salmon and scrambled eggs and poached eggs with avocado on toast. This was our second recent stay and we will stay again

Uncomfortable beds

The hotel is in a lovely setting and all staff were friendly. The food was fine but dear. The room (007) was large and clean but the beds were awful. They were very hard and We could not sleep. I have arthritis and a frozen shoulder and I was in a lot of pain because of the beds. We were booked in for two nights but left after one. The receptionist offered us another double room, but we wanted two single beds. She took our details and said that a member of the management team would contact us to discuss a part refund. We’re still waiting!
