We were warmly welcomed by Don, the owner of this "gotta stay to believe" inn. The room was warm and cozy, like a hug. The property itself is a walk back in time. But, you've got to spend a little time with Don. Warm, charming, witty, smart, a little eccentric (in the best way), you'll love him!
Rude staff. Even though we listed a service animal on our reservation, the staff was extremely rude and demanded that we leave "early " compared to the 10am check out. When checking in I asked 3 separate times if I needed to get the paperwork from the car, which he ignored. Then when we were leaving at 830am, he started yelling again that it was a "no pets" inn. The room had no security lock on the door and the only light that worked was a lamp on the bedside table. Two books for "entertainment " were a "Nancy Drew " and the other was "Hardy Boys"
The Red Rock Inn is a must-stop for any Trans-Canada journey! The rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable, but truly the best part is the building itself - the history! It’s a museum of Red Rock’s past and Don is the curator, regaling us with stories from Neil Young connections to the local WW2 POW camp to where all those Nancy Drew books came from. Do yourself a favour and stay here!
This Property has an important story to share to everyone who wants a little piece of history. The owner was Quick to share and spoke kindly of its history. Please try to make an attempt to stay here. You will walk away with a great experience. We truly appreciate and believe you will as well at this location.

Being a History bug, I loved the facts that it was a prisoner of war camp in WW II for the German prisoners.
Donnie the manager was full of facts

Small Town Inn Near Nipigon
Red Rock Inn provides a nostalgic view at inns of the past .In need of some exterior upkeep but provides an amazing look into the past . Lacks some modern touches , AC and in room coffee maker . Don makes an eyeopening coffee for Continental breakfast .Great local restaurant a short walk across a ball diamond field . Definitely worth the visit . Spend some time viewing the memorabilia .
Don the innkeeper was helpful and knowledgeable. Nice overnight stay.

Vintage Vibe
Owner was entertaining and a historian. Outside appearance is not as shown on website. Outside needs improvements. The structure was old but has potential to be a beautiful inn.

We booked a room at the Inn as a last minute stop while driving across Canada. I only wish I had stayed a few more nights at this unique timecapsule of an Inn. Don was a perfect host full of tales and had a subtle style of staying in the background while getting fellow travellers together.
An ancient, special house for lodging , there’s a long history and story here. A good view, magnificent lake view through the house windows. A great choose for travel.

Very old Inn with lots of antiques, Our room was clean and updated. The outside of the Inn is not well maintained and we were regretting our decision. When we got inside we discovered such an interesting and quirky place. Lots of games to play in the huge TV room. No TVs in the rooms. Another room in basement has pool tables and many other games that were unusable. Nothing hot for breakfast, not even toast. Not sure I would go back, but it's the place we'll talk about when we think of our vacation.
