There were very few options for hotels in this small town so we tried this one. Pros: we noticed how good lobby smelled when we walked in, like a scentsy pot filled with cinnamon. Breakfast area looked remodeled and beautiful. Cookies in lobby were so good and fresh. The pros stopped when we got to the room. It needed cleaning. I kept finding dirty things and had to try to not see any other dirty places. Three lightbulbs out, bathroom fan did not work, no cable tv, only roku. Now for the worst of all: bed was literally hard as a rock. Like a wooden board with a sheet on it. We woke up unable to move and we have a firm mattress at home. Are these mattresses that shot? They need to improve the rooms. The standards of clean are not being reached here, only by people whose standards are low.

The people who work here are so friendly. I enjoyed talking to them and getting information on the areas where I could do things. The lodge reminds us of a Hallmark movie inside—very pleasant and relaxing place.

Much Improved

I stayed in this hotel 8-10 years ago and decided I'd never come back. However, for our family trip it was convenient so I gave it another go. The improvements that have been made are great, the room was comfortable, and the service was good. We will for sure be returning, great hotel!
