Lot's of food stores near buy. Location is amazing, old Rio de Janeiro, birth place of samba music, every night music alive in the bar and restaurants. Kitchen has the minimum basic stuff. No need to cook, good food every where!

The hotel at South was good. My room was in the back on the second level so I was insulated a lot from the clubs out front. Even with noise canceling headphones, I could still hear the music until 5 AM most nights. The staff was excellent.

The hotel is a very accessible location. You can walk to the arco s de lapa and escadaria selaron. Since it is a prime area, you will hear loud music at night. If you are a deep sleeper, then it is no problem. The room is clean and has the essentials you need.
