The best thing about the stay was the welcome and efficiency of the staff. The bed was really comfortable and the room wonderfully quiet. The ambiance was particularly nice because it was Christmas.

Disappointing stay overall. Cold room. Only one towel in the room on arrival. Dirty cups and spoons clearly used by previous guests. Noisy corridor with staff laughing and joking loudly outside rooms before 9:30 in the morning. Smelt like the septic tank needed emptying in the car park. Not great. Better places in the area.

Our stay exceeded our expectations: the staff were just wonderful. Warm, friendly, and helpful. The food was delicious. And the rooms were beautifully appointed and super comfortable. It was loved by children and adults alike. Yes, it’s a little more expensive than some places, but it was well worth it. We will be back.

Attractive rooms and pub/restaurant. Didn't sleep well. The room was cold and the heating was not on. Staff kept leaving emergency exits open for access or to have a smoke. A lot of noise from the adjoining room.

Lovely vibe, relaxing and functional. Excellent staff, I was helped with my bags. The room was a little cold int he evening and I couldn’t find the phone number for reception to ask how to turn on the radiators. Rugs on the floor would be lovely to step out of bed onto. Food all delicious.

We found The Duke to be 5star. Everything was perfect, especially the delightful young staff. Always smiling and very helpful. Decor was very sophisticated and stylish. It was a lovely stay, but I thought that it lacked the extra little touches and attention to detail that a five-star hotel would have over a three or four star hotel. The room was clean, and staff friendly.
