## Emplacement
Today, Saint-Malo is a renowned seaside resort. Surrounded by ramparts, the walled city of Saint-Malo was admirably rebuilt to its original state after 80% of it was destroyed in August 1944. The city of Saint-Malo, with its ramparts, castle and fine buildings, is a superb ensemble. To learn more about the history of Saint-Malo, head for the castle's grand keep, which houses the Musée d'histoire de la ville et du pays Malouin. Visitors can also visit the Grand Aquarium de Saint-Malo, a space entirely dedicated to the marine world. Every four years, the city of Saint-Malo hosts the start of the Route du Rhum, the famous single-handed transatlantic sailing race from Saint-Malo to Pointe-à-Pitre in Guadeloupe.
