A solid budget-friendly option in a great location in San Diego. If you want a bed and a room with no frills in the heart of a fun neighborhood, this is for you. If you want anything else - breakfast, a coffee bar, a gym bigger than 10ft x 10ft - this isn't your spot.

The property is obviously older and a bit outdated. Valet is a bit expensive. 60/day. The shower was super hot and I couldn’t get it to cool down. Definitely Didn’t look forward to a HOT shower on a summer day. There’s no breakfast on site. Literally I felt super overcharged because there’s not many amenities. It is within walking distance to most restaurants and night life, so I’ll give it that. But 400/night I expected a lot more.

We loved the vibe.

The staff was great, the rooms were clean, the place was incredibly unique. We loved our stay. I think the only thing was you could hear everything - from the city streets to your neighbors. It didn’t bother us a whole lot but if you're a light sleeper, it might have been hard to sleep.

As a VIP guest, when I pay for a patio, I expect the view not to be a wall and disgusting alley. Fireplace did not work. Coffee machine was dirty. Odd smell in the room. Advertised as pet friendly, but nowhere for pets to go to the bathroom nearby.

The hotel is nice and beautifully restored. It’s like an antique hotel. I would describe it as a boutique hotel because of its unique features and characteristics of architecture. No fridge in the room. Room and bathroom were outdated and dingy - bubbled paint and stains in tub, stains on bath towels. Staff was not overly warm or inviting - was told they were out of valet spots but had an employee leaving so were able to accommodate us. Check out is early at 10. Fine place to stay if you are only sleeping in the room.
