I loved this hotel. It’s attached to a mini food mall of sorts that has great local food. The hotel’s restaurant Cense is also amazing. I went there on my birthday and it was absolutely wonderful. The ambience is elegant and the dishes are made to perfection. We had coffee and breakfast at the hotel lounge which was also great. The gym had enough equipment for us to get a decent workout in also. Overall I’d recommend and definitely stay here again.

We were planning to stay for just one night and ended up staying four. That alone says a lot. We loved so many things about this hotel, but first and foremost, the staff. The team here is truly exceptional. Our servers at the café, bar, and lounge—1949, Dayarit, Carlos, and William—took such great care of us with genuine warmth and attentiveness. The front desk team—Sebastian, Victoria, Eduardo, Jonas, Keyshel, Fernando, and Estafan—were always friendly, professional, and incredibly helpful. We are grateful to have met such wonderful people who made a hotel feel much more like a home. The hotel was fully renovated about a year ago when it became the Hyatt Centric, and the work done is remarkable. The property feels fresh, thoughtful, and beautifully designed. It is also centrally located, close to some of the city’s best restaurants and shopping. We highly recommend the breakfast buffet at CENSE, the on-property restaurant. It offers an excellent spread of fresh fruits, vegetables, and breads, alongside traditional Costa Rican fare and classic Western breakfast items cooked to order. Just outside on the plaza grounds, be sure to check out KOLOLO for some of the best Korean, Japanese, and Chinese fusion you’ll ever have, and Hooligans for their fantastic wings. We truly enjoyed our time here. Thank you for such a memorable stay.

BEWARE! This is an excellent hotel but it is a $40 taxi ride from the airport and the same to downtown San Jose. It is in the PROVINCE of San Jose, NOT in the city. Rooms are excellent, Food was VERY good, Staff was friendly. Located in a Business Park, with a small mall next door. I felt like being in Irvine while wanting to be in Los Angeles.

We stayed at the hotel for only one night, so we didn’t experience the daily room cleaning service. However, upon arrival, everything was extremely clean, well organized, and very well maintained. Even the public restrooms were spotless and looked amazing, which really impressed us. The front desk staff were incredibly kind and welcoming, and they helped us with every question we had.

The staff were incredible! Keisha at the front desk was outstanding! Thomas was great as well! Carlos from the kitchen staff was amazing.
