What a cute little quaint place! This was absolutely what we wanted when we wanted to stay in old San Juan with all of the charm! I loved the shower amenities! They had shampoo, conditioner, body wash, lotion, all of the things! Quality stuff too. I loved the soft bed. The only downside would be the early check-out of 10:00am. A lot of people are traveling in for a cruise and flight delays and that was a bit inconvenient. We didn’t get in until 1:00am and could’ve used another hour or so of sleep. 11:00 or noon check-out would be much better for the clientele they have. We would absolutely stay there again. ❤️

Great location, cozy little room. Only issue is i didn’t see where you could ask for handicap access, and it was difficult for us as a elderly couple to lug our luggage up the stairs and had to lock up his handicap scooter downstairs. Found a fantastic restaurant on the same street. Delicious.

We had issues upon arrival. I had called 2 days before arrival to make sure we had a ground floor room as I have a broken ankle and wrist and unable to use stairs and they have no elevator. They had assigned us 2nd floor. The rep was not willing to help at first but then found another unit around the corner from the first one. It had 2 beds, one in a loft. Bathroom was big. Living area had mold on the ceiling tiles.The air conditioning unit kept kicking off. Not quite area. This is why I gave them three stars

Casa Las Ruinas is a great option in Old San Juan. The property has oodles of character. The location is phenomenal. The units are spacious and well-maintained. The property managers communicate clearly and regularly. It's a managed apartment set-up, not a full-service hotel, so some of the fringe amenities one would reasonably expect from a full-service hotel are absent, including an onsite front desk, porters to help carry luggage to rooms, etc. But that should be clear from the way the property is presented online--which is to say honestly. On balance, though, what one gives up on these fronts one makes make in other ways, including price, which I certainly found to be quite reasonable given what one gets for one's money. Bottom line: I would certainly consider staying here again the next time I find myself in San Juan.

The good: The building is centrally located and walking distance to pretty much all of old San Juan. The AC worked great the entire stay. Management was communicative to resolve issues. They were kind to help us with a later check out with the issues we had encountered Sadly much more bad: The photos did not compare to reality. The photos are nice and shows the property being well kept, the reality it was half way in disrepair. Perhaps at one in point in time it was like that, but definitely not now. Notice how you really don't know which room the photos really belong to, we'll make sure you don't get room 11. 1. Our shower handle failed on the first use. It would spin in circles. We couldn't stop the water, contacted the off-site manager and their first question was what did you do to it!? Someone came to do a temporary fix after about 30 minutes and that was fine for the moment as they could not get a plumber until the next day. 2. TV - don't bother. They don't have a remote control, nor could produce one as I was told they are in the process of ordering them. The TV doesn't have any buttons on the unit to control it. Some how the room next door blaring their TV did not have a problem. 3. Paper thin walls and the ceiling opens to the next room over. I was greated to the room next door screaming and blasting their music at 2 am having sex. 4. Cleanliness, while the room a strong faboulosa clearner, the walls, bed stand was dirty No hooks for towels!
