Lovely historic hotel. Some renovations are being done but there was no disturbance from it. The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. Will definitely stay again.

The rooms were very nice and large. It's being remodeled, but didn't impede our stay. The only negative is the amount of parking spaces they have which is across the street. Other than that, a good stay.

The room had been recently updated and there was an unpleasent oder in the room. Unfortunately the doors tobthe patio were stuck and I couldn't get them open. Additionally, the coffee maker was broken and that is never good to discover in the morning. The good news is that the staff was so nice and helpful, which is the norm at the Carlton.

Based upon previous stays at the Carlton, & the reason for going back is because of its “old world charm”….it has completely lost all that pizzazz. The new color green is horrible & the rooms are very corporate America & lacking class. The staff booked us right next door to construction, which began at 7:50 am!! We couldn’t get out of there fast enough & our next trip, No Thank You, we’ll stay in Paseo Robles.

No winery view here, more like stepping back in time, nice vintage throwback hotel with lots of character. In all fairness they are in middle of a remodel that no one told us about.. . But lots to do walking distance. remodel not expected to be done until sometime in December. I would like to see it when completed. Biggest complaint was we reserved a room for 4 people, and you only had 1 chair in room. Had to sit on beds. Oh yeah any chance you can move that fire station, they had a busy Friday night.

Rooms were clean, updating, so it depends on what room you are placed in as to how nice it is. I had multiple good stays until my most recent stay, September 30-October 3rd, when I was bitten by bedbugs on my lower extremities and buttocks. At first I thought it was spiders, but it was your typically three bite pattern.
