A wonderful view and beautiful grounds. We loved our balcony and cozy bed. The only downside was the horrible smell of cleaning products in the bathroom. We had to air it out for hours to even go in the bathroom without being overpowered by the smell of bleach and other cleaning supplies. I would suggest the hotel transitions to eco friendly cleaning products without a strong scent.

Spider webs in room. Screen on rear sliding door damaged. Glass windows next to entry doors have no curtains and allow no privacy as you can see silhouettes and night lights through glass. No credit cards or debit cards accepted. Dining way over priced.

Its been 10 years since I was last here, and the place is not quite what I remember. Things are looking a bit dated and run down. With highway 1 being shut down, they don't get the traffic they normally do, and have had to shut their down their mini mart/snack shack, and, I believe, reduce service at their restaurant. I hope they can survive this unfortunate situation, and bring the hotel back to its former glory. Such a beautiful location!

Wonderful stay. It is a bit remote, which is exactly what I was looking for, but if you aren’t expecting it, come prepared to have only one restaurant and really not much within walking distance. There are a lot of great hiking trails within a 10 minute drive. The staff were all amazing and the food in the restaurant and coffee shop was much better than expected and reasonably priced. Highly recommend for a 2 to 3 day stay

Serenity now

We had a wonderful 3 nights at Ragged Point. We explored hikes up the coast, loved our dinners at the on-site restaurant and relished in the serenity and sunsets. We will definitely make another trip out at some pint. (We are from the east coast and drove up from San Diego while visiting our daughter in college). We have always wanted to visit Big Sur and although the road is still closed at the landslide we really enjoyed all this area had to offer and the staff and setting at Ragged Point. And the ocean view was outstanding. Ocean for miles!

Great views, they allow dogs in EVERY room so have to deal with the smell off the room, barking dogs and fleas. Dogs are everywhere. The staff call it the doggie hotel. So better be a dog person.

Amazing place to stay!! We travel with family, one of my relatives with celiac disease. Beautiful views, clean well maintained rooms, fancy rooms. Friendly staff. The restaurant has many gluten free options, and they are well aware of cross -contamination. These was a relief. Food was fresh and delicious. We are definitely coming back
