Great find of what is probably a historical hotel for the area. Definitely has that historic charm with the high end classic interior. Loved room seating area and we could open windows for fresh air. Only let downs were that we could never find the communal lawn area pictured around a firepit (I question whether this is a local park, not at the hotel). There is no view of the ocean from hotel; the brush has since grown too tall, but you can hear the waves from west side of bldg. Breakfast was the one/only serious underperformance. Waffle irons were the only hot food item (which is fine, it lists “continental brkfast”). But, what was offered was so illogically laid out and it made for impractical foot traffic patterns. More importantly, grade ‘D’ on being kept stocked. All carafes were out of coffee repeatedly. Juice, syrup, bread/bagels… all ran out (and this was at 8:30am, not the end). Made for a lot of frustrated and unhappy guests. Better to just offer coffee/tea and keep those stocked than this. I did laugh that on a credenza right by entry to brkfast area, the hotel had a local directory opened to a page for a nearby breakfast diner. This is a really neat and clean, classy vintage hotel. The lack of good breakfast is not a reason to pass on staying here. But in respect to this beautiful old gem, either uphold that standard or stick to coffee and offer a $10 voucher to a local diner. Do brkfast right or dont do it at all. Guests were NOT happy, espec @$200/nt

Cute place but the rooms could use some upgrades. Didn't use the pool. There should be a key reader for those that park in the back of the building to be able to walk through the pool to get inside the hotel.

Nice hotel close to all

I booked a partial ocean view and ended up with a pretty good ocean view. Sleeping with the window open to listen to the ocean while the fireplace was on was amazing! The hotel is very close to Cambria and San Simeon which made it the perfect place to stay for our mini vacation. We would definitely stay there again!

Our room was in the older building. The bathroom was difficult to use because the toilet was low, the vanity was too large to get in the door. King size bed was nice, nice furniture arrangement, the garden view beautiful, slight view of the ocean, breakfast buffet available. Parking right next to our hotel room door. Original reservation was upstairs in the newer building where there was no elevator. That is why we agreed to move to the other building. The newer building probably would have had a nicer room. The only hot food at the breakfast buffet was waffles. It would've been nice to have some scrambled eggs or even bacon or sausage. Overall, we enjoyed our stay. The staff was very nice. We don't know if the Mexican restaurant between the two buildings was part of the Morgan or not, but we would not go back and would not recommend it. Thank you for the opportunity to enjoy the beautiful coastline there.

This hotel is an affordable option when visiting nearby attractions and the neighboring beach town of Cambria. The property is off of the beach and is in separate buildings divided by a Mexican restaurant. It is dated but clean and we received great customer service. We felt that advertising was a bit misleading as our ocean view junior suite which they said offered 'spectacular partial ocean views" was a typical sized room with a view of buildings and small glimpses of the ocean between them. It would be nice if they clearly stated on their website that they do not have an elevator. This was an issue after a foot injury a few weeks back. But overall, we feel it is a good value for the area and would stay again..

Hotel was clean; however a bit outdated. No fridge under tv cabinet instead a small fridge on the floor by the bathroom. No elevator and the blinds were either keep rolled up all the way with no privacy or all of way down for full blackout.
