Bed bugs and mice!
The house itself (size, layout, location) was fine upon arrival but it was not clean. It had probably been surface-cleaned between guests but we could tell right away that it hadn’t been deep cleaned in a very long time. Beds were uncomfortable, linens were about as low quality as they could be. There were very few bath towels, dish towels, plates, coffee cups, certainly not enough to accommodate the number of guests advertised. No bath mats in two bathrooms. It also didn’t match the listing in that most of the furnishings were missing. No TV in main living area, only one bar stool left in the kitchen, rugs and other items in pictures were missing. The door to one of the bedrooms was installed upside down? It was very odd, as if the house has been ransacked. Then after a couple nights, guests started noticing bug bites on their legs and holes chewed through food bags in the kitchen (with mice droppings on counters). Needless to say, we departed the property immediately and reported it to VRBO for a refund. The host was very responsive and accommodating when we reached out with our concerns but there’s something shady happening at this house. Absolutely not fit to host guests.
