This is a pet-friendly accommodation, and while we don’t have a pet ourselves, I left with multiple bites on my lower legs after standing near the bed shortly before checkout. The itching started immediately, and the pattern suggests flea bites—likely from a previous guest’s pet, given the carpeted floor. I’d recommend the property inspect and treat the room to avoid this happening to future guests. Other than that, the hotel is newer, with a nice seating area and firepit. The water pressure was quite weak, though.

An ok stay in wine country

Noisy. ( room was right by the pool). Very loud fan in bathroom. Shower had good pressure but unable to adjust position. Bathroom floor was not clean.Slider to the patio was stuck. Bed was comfortable . Some snacks available in the lobby and a bar with food on the property. Beware! There is nothing to eat in Buellton after 8 or 9 at the latest except fast food.

Conveniently located near the 101, but insulated enough that you don't hear the traffic. The Sideways Lounge is a clean, hip setting for a drink, but it was disappointing that the kitchen (sausage truck) was closed for the majority of our stay. The provided doughnuts were tasty, but danishes would be more on point considering the proximity to Solvang.

Stayed for 3 days. Sideways is dog friendly and adjacent to freeway, gas and other amenitities. The Sideways lounge is a welcoming bar with some pretty good live music. Bed was just right and showers deliver. Recommend for a value added travelers with furry family members.

Fun place for adults, so-so for families

Not great for kids since they aren’t allowed inside the restaurant, which is really just meant for partying. Good for adults who are there to have a gooood time. Proximity to 101 is a bummer as it’s very loud at night. Overall they did a cute job renovating the motel.

Property was close to Flying flags where family was staying. Easy access and short walk. Property had plenty of parking spaces for guest staying at hotel however it should be managed a bit better, during peak times you’ll find people staying in flying flags parking in hotel area.

We found ourselves in Solvang in the evening after a long day of travel, and needed a place on short notice. The Sideways Inn was nearby and affordable, so we booked it. Plus, we like the movie! The motel is as clean and well furnished as any of the more expensive chains we stayed in. It's not fancy but it's a good deal and offers a nice and fun alternative for the night. Thanks!

I had a fantastic stay at Sideways Inn! The location was incredibly convenient—right off the freeway and just a short drive to Los Olivos. The inn was peaceful, quiet, and perfect for relaxing. Everything was spotless, and the staff were genuinely kind and helpful. I’ll definitely be returning the next time I’m in the area. Highly recommend!
