Omg, The Upham is a great hotel & cottage place to stay in Santa Barbara! The staff Veronica, Samantha & Ana were superior to my stay for 3 nights.
I gave it 4 stars because of the WiFi. If you have work to do plan for slow wifi or set time for work getting done in a nearby cafe.
Otherwise, enjoy your stay!! If you need anything, just ask the front desk. It’s a great experience.
I really liked the quaint environment of the Upham Hotel and how convenient it was to get to surrounding shops and restaurants by foot. The service was great with daily room cleanings and perks such as a “happy hour” which made our time there more enjoyable. The grounds are immaculately kept and helped give us additional spaces to enjoy during our stay. Our room was the right size to make it comfortable without being too large or costly. Would definitely recommend the Upham Hotel to anyone traveling to the Santa Barbara area!
This is a beautiful hotel in a perfect location, which easy access to restaurants and shops on State Street. Loved the unique room configurations and how well kept the historic hotel was. Would come back.

Very cute and simple, fantastic location. Walkable to downtown.
This is a lovely property very convenient to walk to restaurants, shopping and coffee shops. Pillows could better but didn't diminish our enjoyment of the lovely porch and happy hour! The restaurant was closed but will definitely make a nice option when available
The staff was very personable and made the experience very easy. If we needed something, staff was quick to get it for us. The complimentary wine was fantastic.
Really enjoy sitting at the beautiful, tranquil garden outside our cottage. Room is clean. Staff are all nice and helpful. Would book this hotel again while travelling between Northern and Southern California.
