A wonderful, genuine escape in the heart of historic Savannah where visitors can experience life as a local and enjoy everything Savannah has to offer.

“The Clara” is situated in the historic Victorian District, just a leisurely 5-minute walk to Savannah’s renowned Forsyth Park the largest park in downtown Savannah. Take a delightful stroll from the front door of "The Clara" through the Spanish moss-draped trees to the cobblestones of River Street, exploring the beautiful Savannah Squares, charming shops, and eateries along the way!

About the home:
Step back in time by staying in a Strous Row, circa 1891, townhome. Named after one of Margaret Strous’ daughters who grew up next door more than a century ago, “The Clara” showcases Victorian architectural details inside and out, furnished with period antique pieces collected from all over Georgia.

Upon entering “The Clara,” you'll find a spacious living area with comfortable seating, a 70” Roku smart TV, secretary desk, and reading nook.

The formal dining room with an open floor plan to the living room features a 6-8 seat dining table, buffet, and numerous lounge chairs. An additional dining table in the adjacent breakfast room can accommodate up to six.

The kitchen is modern and well-equipped with all necessary cooking and kitchenware. French doors lead to the classic back porch with wicker furniture overlooking the private courtyard.

The home includes two full vintage bathrooms, one downstairs and one upstairs, along with a large laundry/dressing room upstairs. The grand staircase leads to all 4 bedrooms upstairs (3 spacious bedrooms and a smaller 4th bedroom known as the ‘trunk room’.)

Amenities:
Two designated off-street parking spaces, private courtyard, exterior porches, free wifi, well-stocked kitchen, ample linens, washer/dryer, and local Savannah owners for assistance during your stay.

Savannah is a walking city and our architecture and squares are best enjoyed on foot. The Clara is walkable to all historic sites for the active and able bodied. We recommend to drive or opt for cabs or rideshares for evening outings to River Street and City Market.

A 3-night minimum stay may be required on weekends, so please inquire for availability.
