Welcome to the Schaapskooi: A Unique Nature Experience!



The Schaapskooi has been in our family for a long time. It was originally a real sheepfold, which was converted into a holiday cottage in the 1960s. I used to come here as a child and later with my own children. I’ve always loved spending time in this beautiful, tranquil environment. Now that I live abroad, we’ve decided to rent it out.

This old cottage exudes history and character. Yes, it has its quirks and small flaws, but that’s exactly what makes it so special! The wooden beams, cozy corners, and rustic atmosphere will take you back in time.

Imagine waking up in the morning to the sound of birds singing and enjoying a glass of wine on the terrace in the evening as the sun sets. The Schaapskooi is nestled among the trees, far away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Here, you’ll find peace, quiet, and pure relaxation.

Unlike standard holiday parks, the Schaapskooi offers an authentic experience. The small imperfections? They’re part of it! They contribute to the story of this cottage and give it character.

It is located amidst the meadows in the rural outskirts of the Gelderse Vallei. To get there, you have to follow a dirt road and then cross a field where cows may roam! A few kilometers further in Scherpenzeel, you`ll find all the necessary shops. In Barneveld, you`ll find even more and larger stores. Additionally, you can enjoy wonderful walks, mountain biking, or simply relish the peace and quiet.





Other Things to Note:

- Both indoor and outdoor smoking are strictly prohibited!

- The fireplace may be used, but always keep the grate in front and don’t let the fire get too large. The fire must be out before you go to bed.

- Be careful with candles.

- No fires in the garden.

- Always respect nature, including the cows in the pasture.

- No loud music.

- The BBQ can be used, but keep it a safe distance from the Schaapskooi.

- Never leave food out; always store everything in containers or cupboards to avoid attracting mice. Therefore, always keep the kitchen clean.

As a guest of Beautiful detached family house on a large plot, you'll find barbecue grills, a garden, and laundry facilities. The front desk is open around the clock.
