The Space:

Bigfoot’s Bluff is a thoughtfully designed studio-style cabin that blends cozy comfort with a playful forest theme.



When you walk in, the living area welcomes you with a simple, comfortable sofa, coffee table, and a small dining table for two. Large windows along the kitchen wall, living room, and bedroom bring in beautiful natural light and make the space feel connected to the woods outside.



The queen bed sits just three steps up from the main living area beneath a canopy of real branches woven with vines and greenery overhead. There is no door separating the bedroom from the main space, but room-darkening shades allow for privacy and restful sleep.



The kitchen is simple and functional. It includes a mini fridge, microwave, drip coffee maker, toaster, and two portable induction cooktops that can be pulled from the drawer when needed. We provide basic cookware, utensils, and essentials for preparing simple meals. Please note there is no full-size refrigerator, oven, dishwasher, or washer and dryer.



The full bathroom features a tiled walk-in shower with curtain.



Outside, enjoy the private deck with outdoor seating and a hot tub surrounded by trees.



Designed to feel immersive, warm, and one of a kind, this cabin is more than a place to stay. It’s an experience tucked into the forest. The Red River Gorge is calling, offering world class hiking, climbing, and unforgettable time outdoors just down the road.



Important: There are 63 stairs from the parking area up to the cabin. Guests should be comfortable climbing stairs when booking.



Guest Access:

•Guests will have full private access to the cabin, deck, and hot tub during their stay.



•You will have your own dedicated parking area at the base of the staircase leading up to the cabin.



•You will receive detailed check-in instructions prior to arrival for a smooth self check-in experience.



The Neighborhood:

Bigfoot’s Bluff is located in the Twin Arch neighborhood in Slade, Kentucky, just 5 minutes from the Slade exit off the Mountain Parkway.



You are only a short drive from Nada Tunnel, the main access point to many of the Red River Gorge’s most popular hiking trails, scenic overlooks, and climbing areas.



Several other cabins are located in the neighborhood, but you’ll still feel tucked into the trees once you’re on the property. You’re close to Miguel’s Pizza, Red River Rockhouse, local shops, and everything that makes the Gorge such a special place to visit.



Getting Around:

A vehicle is required to access the cabin and explore the Red River Gorge area. There is no public transportation in the Gorge.



Bigfoot’s Bluff is conveniently located just 5 minutes from the Slade exit off the Mountain Parkway, making it easy to access year-round compared to cabins located deeper in the forest.



Most hiking trails, scenic overlooks, restaurants, and local attractions are just a short drive away. We recommend a standard vehicle in normal weather conditions, but always check the forecast during winter months.



Other Things to Note:

Each cabin is unique to specific items they include, however, RRG Getaways supplies the listed items below at all cabins as a baseline for guests. A starter amount of the following: hand soap, paper towels, toilet paper, trash bags, dish soap, dish pods, laundry pods, and basic cleaning supplies. Any additional items needed will be the guest's responsibility to supply. We do not supply anything considered perishable or consumable, this includes but is not limited to, coffee, salt, pepper, oil and the like.



•Pets are allowed at this cabin. We charge a flat pet fee of $50 for up to two pets. Please be sure to add any pets to your reservation. If you do not see where to do so, reach out to us so we can apply our pet fee.

•We provide toiletries for guests such as shampoo, conditioner, and body wash.

•Firewood can be bought locally in our area easily.

•There is no wifi at this cabin, although cell service tends to work great at the cabin.

•The cabin sits halfway up Twin Arch, which requires a steep paved road. 2WD can make it since the steepest sections are paved. Icy conditions will make this road challenging to navigate.
