Most disgusting hotel I have ever seen. The room was filthy. Urine stains in several areas and I only went 3ft into the room. Lamp broken and could have electrocuted someone, went to switch it on and it fell over with exposed wires. A/C unit was not installed properly and I could see and hear the outside via 1-2”gaps on each side. Which would also allow bugs to get in. This hotel was deplorable. They wouldn’t issue refund and Expedia didn’t fight for me. This lodge should be reported to the health dept. Hope this honest review gets posted. Absolutely disgusting. Oh and they did offer me a different room. Why would I even stay in any room when the initial one they offered me was supposed to be satisfactory to them? I drove 5hrs back home instead of staying. They said “we offered her a new room” as their excuse to not credit me the value. Expedia did give me back my key cash. I will file an insurance claim as I did buy that. Buyer beware that Expedia doesn’t fight for you. They each point the finger back at the other. Very sad.

The sheets and bathrooms were clean. The property needs updates. The convenience of the property is Sheplers shuttle picked us up and drop us off. Also we were able to buy our tickets for the Ferry right at the hotel at a discounted price.

Location is good. Very easy to get to the ferry to Mackinac Island. The front desk folks were very helpful. The breakfast buffet was standard fare. The room we were in was fairly spacious, but felt very dated. The air conditioner was pretty loud .There was no microwave in the room; we had to go to the breakfast room to use the microwave there. There was no housekeeping service during the duration of our stay. Im summary , it is an ok place if all one wants is a place to stay for a couple of days.

All of the employees were so helpful and kind. We didn’t have the opportunity to use the bonfire pit, but it was set up so beautifully with Adirondack chairs. We looked forward to the the hot tub, but was closed for repairs.

Beds were not comfortable at all, advertised a pool and hot tub but hot tub was not working and didn't look like it would be for a while, came back from mackinac island to have complaints of loud noise and fighting against us when we had just got back. Free breakfast was blah, charged full orice for ferry tickets when they advertised discounted tickets, Don't think we'll be staying there again.

Great hotel for a very reasonable price. Only complaints are that the room was over 80 degrees when we got there and it took over an hour to cool down. Only other thing I was a bit disappointed about was that I booked a pet room under the impression that the cost of having a pet was including in the cost considering no where on the rooms page did is say there was a $30 per fee added ontop of the cost. Only to find out when checking in there was an extra fee which I then had to dig on there website to find the fine print.
