STOWAWAY is a breezy two story town house; excellent for two couples or a family. It is part of a small, 8 unit group known as VILLAS ON THE UPPER DECK. It is located just above town.

The first floor consists of entry foyer, living, dining, kitchen, laundry, half bath, grill area, and dining deck overlooking the pool with views of St. Croix. The upper floor has two separate bedrooms each with its own bath and deck. One bedroom has an added sleeping loft perfect older kids.

Gardens, tropical trees, and a new pool create a West Indies vibe. The views are fantastic.

You will be met at the ferry, taken to the grocery store, and settled into your villa by your personal greeter, who will also be able to answer any questions and will be available by phone during your stay.

Perfect for families

The view was amazing and this rental was perfect for our family of four. The complex was quiet and private. Plus, the pool and AC units in the bedroom made it an extra comfort stay. Communication with the owner was prompt and she provided tons of ideas and info for us.

The most quintessential St. John cottage!

Book the trip! Just do it. We had the absolute best stay on St. John with our family and our stay cottage made it so perfect. We had all the beach items, a grill for after a long day at the beach, TV to watch our Tigers play baseball and some precious kitties who would visit us. The pool was wonderful for an afternoon dip from our long days snorkeling! Marcia provided us with tips, tricks and all the recommendations for our agenda and stay. Grateful our time on the island and look forward to visiting again soon.

Wonderful Winter Escape

Stowaway was a great place to stay on St John. It’s a beautiful hilltop property with spectacular views of Cruz Bay and was the perfect space for two couples. The owner provided a lot of helpful information ahead of our arrival and was very responsive. The unit came stocked with bathroom essentials & beach bags, chairs and towels. It was close to Starfish Market for a few groceries (bring your own bags) and town restaurants (5 min drives). Would definitely stay here again.

Fantastic Nine Nights at Stowaway at Upper Deck Villa's

I have been vacationing in St. John for 35 years; I must have stayed in 15-20 Villas. Stowaway is one of my favorites. For a single person, two people, or two couples, it is perfect. The view is absolutely fantastic. The interior is lovely, clean, and well-kept. Two fantastic bedrooms upstairs. The Villa is equipped with everything you will need. This property is so convenient for everything. Marcia is a fantastic, helpful, and communicative host. What more can I say than I have already booked for the end of 2024 into January 2025, doubling the time I will be staying.

Amazing stay at the Stowaway

We just returned back from a week long stay at the Stowaway and it was a trip to remember. From the minute we booked, Marcia was incredibly helpful, offering a full list of things to visit and do in St. John. The pictures online don't do this place justice! The views are simply stunning, there are two decks one on each floor. The villa is up a steep hill, very tranquil and quiet. It is a very close drive to town, we would drive in every night and park in a lot. We rented a Bronco in St. Thomas, and drove it over on the ferry as Marcia recommended and it was wonderful advice. We will be back soon and stay here. We had our three young children who really enjoyed the place as well. She has everything and more in stock! It's a great place!

Great place to stay on St John. Comes stocked with bathroom essentials & beach gear. Owner provided much helpful info ahead of our arrival and was very responsive to any issues that came up once there. Being a two-story unit with stairs, not suitable for anyone with mobility issues. Road up to unit is steep, windy, & not well-marked but the payoff is spectacular views.

Charming place with beautiful view

The host was wonderful and had lots of great suggestions for snorkeling, eating, beaches etc. the air conditioning in the bedrooms was great and I loved the open plan with incredible views off both the upstairs and downstairs. There was a nice pool but we didn’t use it since we stayed out hiking and snorkeling each day. The drive up was quite steep and I am glad we rented a Jeep . I would definitely stay here again!

Stay at Stowaway

Fabulous views to the southeast over Cruz Bay from bedroom deck and lower, main floor deck. Is fairly high up mountain. All amenities, appliances worked well, except mosquito screens, some of which don't actually close inside from outside at screen rollers. May be the best bedroom for sleeping I've ever encountered. Landlord was very nice, helpful and friendly, a great welcome to St. John's. Would stay there again, next time.

We stayed at Stowaway for a week in January 2023 and had a wonderful time! The villa had everything we needed and the rooms were very comfortable. The breezes and view on the first floor are just amazing - we really enjoyed the sea air! The kitchen is fully stocked, pool is clean and quiet, designated parking spot is a bonus. Check-in was a piece of cake - Marcia was an excellent host and checked on us a few times during our stay to see if we needed anything (which we didn't - everything was there for us!). We're already checking our calendar to book a few weeks at Stowaway - one is never enough!

Breathtaking views while having everything we need!

Our stay at Stowaway was perfect! We loved having a full kitchen with all the supplies we needed to eat breakfast and often, dinner at our place. The beds were very comfortable and a perfect set up for a family of 5. The pool down below was a wonderful way to cool off when we didn’t make the trip down to the beaches. The best part was the view! It was spectacular and I will never forget it. Marcia was very communicative and open to texts whenever we had a question. She even provided us with a list of restaurants and things we had to do for our trip. I couldn’t be happier with our choice to stay at Stowaway (once we got used to the drive up :). Thank you Marcia!

Location, Location, Location.. View from both decks was amazing. Stayed at Stowaway for 7 nights. Bruce (employee) met us at the Starfish Market ,took us to our villa and got us settled in for our stay. Beach chairs, floats and coolers all on site made our trips out to the beach's very enjoyable. Close to gas station , market's and downtown Cruz Bay. Bedrooms are upstairs and very private from the living area down stairs. great for a family or two couples. Marcia was continuously in touch by phone or email. I also must mention the PRICE was right. I would stay at Stowaway on a return trip.

My boyfriend and I recently stayed at Stowaway for 1 week. The views from both decks are AWESOME. Owners are very nice and helpful. They were in contact with us prior to the trip up until the day we arrival. They were BEYOND helpful!! I would 100% stay here again. The condo has everything you need plus some. Only thing they don't have which I didn't mind was Cable TV. We had friends from the wedding party rent out other condos attached to Stowaway which was nice when getting together and using the pool. We had it to ourselves all week. Great place for small family or 2 couples. Its a very open and great breeze. We didn't use the AC at all. Very relaxing and quiet place to stay as well. Thank you Georgia, David, and Marcia!! We highly recommend your condo.

Vacation at Stowaway!

Just returned from our fifth stay at Stowaway! We enjoy it so much we keep coming back!! Georgia and David have thought of everything. Marcia is exceptionally helpful with any prevacation questions. Especially like having early morning coffee on the deck! This year the skies were exceptional! A full moon really brightened up the night and after a quick shower one day, we were blessed with a beautiful double rainbow! Highly recommend a stay on St. John at Stowaway!

Great Value on St. John

Our family of 5 spent 9 relaxing nts in March at the Stowaway. The lay out worked well for us. 2 kids shared the spare room and our younger one slept in the loft in our room. Condo is clean & comfortable and well stocked (coolers, beach towels, beach chairs & umbrella were much appreciated!). Condo is perched on hillside with about 10 other units overlooking Westin - spectacular view! My husband booked with Cruz Bay Divers at the Westin for scuba diving. It was nice to be relaxing at the pool and see his dive boat pull up at the dock and know when he would be back to the condo shortly. Markets & town are quick 5 min drive. North shore beaches are about 15-20 minute drive - very convenient. Marcia was very helpful prior to the trip (we opted to rent car at STT and car ferry over on her advice- worked well). Our greeter, T-bird (the local songbird on the island) was so friendly and offered her number during our stay (which we did use to text her and ask a couple of questions). I looked at all kinds of properties for our stay on STJ. I was so glad I chose this one once we arrived - location (close to everything, yet quiet and peaceful), value (everything on STJ is expensive so the price was right on this condo) and that beautiful view!

Wonderful stay!

We have been to St John and St Thomas ten times over the course of thirty years, and have stayed at several different venues (hotels, campgrounds, villas, etc). But we will have to say that getting to know Georgia and David here (and their little piece of paradise) was quite a treat! They treated us like family, and were most accommodating. It was so nice to have everything clean and in working order. We only wished we could stay longer than the two weeks we were here. We hope to visit again soon. Thanks again!

We had an excellent experience staying at Stowaway March 23-30, 2013. I would describe Stowaway as a very comfortable, affordable property (compared to other properties in St. John) with a GREAT view. It is not luxurious but it was clean, comfortable and it had everything we needed. We really appreciate the extras including: beach chairs, cooler, beach bags, tin foil, garbage bags, shampoo, soap, laundry soap, blow dryer, ice packs, and even the vacuum cleaner! It was nice to be able to remove some of sand from the rental jeep. We very much appreciate that Theresa met us after we got off the ferry and directed us to Stowaway. Even though we had been given good directions, I'm not sure we would have found it on our own. I had forgotten how steep and windy the roads are. I highly recommend renting a jeep. Although Stowaway is close to town, I personally would not have wanted to walk down or up the hills! We shopped at the Starfish Market everyday and found everything we needed. We went to a beach and/or snorkeling every day. Our favorite places include: Waterlemon Bay (stay away though if the current is too strong), Hawksnest, and Salt Pond Bay area. We also went on a day sail with Captain Bob and Matey and had a wonderful day. Captain Bob is a very nice and interesting man and his rates are also very reasonable. Another highlight was listening to Theresa sing and play guitar. She even gave us one of her CD's and it was fun to meet and talk with her. We also enjoyed a steel drum player we saw at a bar right near the harbor and ferry dock. Overall, we had a wonderful trip. I have many memories of the VI's as I lived there back in the mid 80's. Although there are many changes, (not necessarily for the better), the islands will always hold a special place in my heart! It was great to be back! I think the listing and reviews for Stowaway accurately reflect the property. A big thank you to Marcia, Georgia, and Theresa.
