We had a great stay, the bed was very uncomfortable and there was drug paraphernalia outside in the parking lot. The staff were great and the breakfast was good, great hotel but needs new beds

We have stayed at the Murray premises many times before, was always great. Unfortunately this time around there was an early morning power outage in the area.. I had to try and get ready for an appointment with only limited natural light and my phone flashlight.. not the best circumstances. This power outage was not a planned outage and the whole area around the hotel was out.. not a fault of the hotel but a very frustrating time while trying to get ready.

A unique property that is in a perfect location to walk around St John’s. However if visually or physically challenged my fourth floor room required an elevator, flight of stairs (elevator only goes to third floor), and some additional steps to get too. Room was very dark, with lamps that needed to be turned on/off individually. A unique and interesting restoration but dated. Solely for location I would stay again but request an accessible room.

We love staying at the Murray Premises. It’s our go to place to stay as it’s close to all the things you wanna do downtown. The price is great too, always. We stayed two nights and the second night our room had a real foul smell so we asked to switch rooms and the staff didn’t hesitate. Always a pleasure staying here!! We’ll be back!

The Murray is an older hotel with a lot of charm. The rooms are nice and different than a regular layout with a very large bathroom and a fireplace. The lighting is very dark and there’s only one window in the room. That was my only issue. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Location wise this is probably the best hotel to walk around downtown st. Johns.
