Met our needs well.

Staff were friendly and most helpful. There were many positives about the hotel. However the hotel appeared a bit in need of various upgrades or repairs. I found the hall rugs in need of a good cleaning. Nevertheless again the accommodations were most suitable to our needs.

We stayed for 3 nights. Check in was really smooth, however we weren't told upon check in that linens & rooms were only cleaned every 3 days...found a random card in our room on day 2 that stated this. When staying at other properties, this is typically something we've been told at check in, along with the fact that we could request a different cleaning schedule if necessary. The hotel itself is old..while some upgrades have been done, like painting, bed replacements, etc,., there are not enough upgrades to warrant the cost per night..our total cost with tax for 3 nights was almost $600 so I don't feel the facility warrants this price. Especially where it's not located directly in downtown Sydney within walking distance of shops or restaurants. Our A/C unit was also leaking when we arrived & it was obvious from floor damage that it had been happening for a while. Other cons included: -no coffee maker in room, & no way to even get hot water -no drinking glasses -no ice bucket -no in room phone -loud, sound really carries between hall & rooms -no elevator Pros: -Friendly staff -Clean pool facility -Fairly central if you have a car -Nice on site restaurant You can tell the staff really care, but the building needs some major upgrades to warrant the price.

My room next to a side door making it very noisy. No every day cleaning. The sheets that’s okay if they don’t change them. Found on the last day silver fish on the bathroom floor. Reported it. Otherwise issues were resolved quickly. Nice courtyard but not accessible for handicapped people.

This is an old property. The "new" owners are trying to improve it, but just putting new furniture in a room does not really do that much. It smells musty, the paint int he bathroom was peeling, bathtub didn't work (you could only shower), and they had some kind of contraption for the toilet paper holder that was ridiculous. The parking lot is a good indication of the inside. We didn't use the pool. I have pictures but couldn't upload them. Considering many hotels close by charge over $300, you get what you pay for at this one. It's much cheaper and there's a reason. The front staff were very nice and did the best they could with what they had at hand.

The room was disappointing – it wasn’t properly cleaned and felt dirty. The TV didn’t work, and even closing the door properly was a struggle. The only positives were the friendly staff and the good restaurant, but unfortunately, those were the only highlights of my stay.

This hotel was in a handy location. The staff were friendly, very helpful and quick to fix issues such as no hair dryer in the room. The phone charging outlets didn’t work. Hotel is dated so feels old and less clean.

I spoke to expedia about cancelling our second night. I was told because I didn't have confirmation number it couldn't be done early in the afternoon of the first day. When I got back to the hotel, they told me to call expedia. I was told I was too late and the money had been released to the hotel. The staff was really helpful and helped me find the confirmation number and that it should be ok. Unfortunately, no money has reached my mastercard yet. The hotel needs alot of tlc upgrading

Upon entering our room, we were hit with a massive heat bomb as our room temp was set to 90 degrees (in the middle of a heat wave!!!) We found a completely untouched, filthy bathroom, no microwave which was listed as an amenity, only one lamp to give off a dim light in the room a hair dryer that fell off the wall when we went to use it and a room full of outlets that had no electricity hooked to them. We were moved to a room on main level of property on second day and were told these were the "nicer" rooms.

Check in was quick and easy. Front guest staff were polite but couldn't answer any questions about the area and didn't tell us anything about the onsite restaurant. The hotel appears to have many electrical issues. Hallway lights removed and badly capped. Myself (and other guests who were complaining in the lobby during my check in) had outlets in room that didn't work and couldn't be used. In room TV only works for 5 channels (one being fireplace). Shower faucet doesn't turn properly so water tempature cannot be controlled. Beds were comfortable but didn't have proper blankets (we had to use our own). Room smelt like smoke despite being a nonsmoking building. This location needs some TLC by owners.

We came to the hotel and several folks were drinking in the parking lot. We left to grad some items at a store and EHS and RCMP arrived to deal with guests who were drunk at 7pm. Power outlets didn’t work, no soap or towels in room etc.
