What a pleasant hotel. They have done an excellent job maintaining an old facility. The room was extremely comfortable. The bed and mattress were nice. Not as noisy as I expected. I read reviews, but can honestly say everything exceeded my expectations. I would stay here again!

The Mizpah is a true Nevada gem. You feel as though you've stepped back in time as soon as you enter the lobby. Set in the period of the Tonopah mining boom of the early 1900s the Mizpah, a historic building in its own right, has been revitalized to create the feel of the era. The owners have done an incredible job.

The only things that could have made the stay better, is if the bar had longer hours, and food was served a little later. Additionally, there could have been a selection of bar food. IE: appetizers.

The staff at the Bar (one young woman in particular-blond and petite) working SO hard to please everyone and never left me and checked in numerous times. I really appreciated her attention as a solo woman traveling. Food was great as was the wine!

The hotel had an antique charm reflecting its origin in 1907, but it lacked ambiance. Lobby cushions were very uncomfortable, our room was not clean and we had to change rooms, there were stale odors, and while some employees were hospitable, others were surly. Overall, I think management needs to spend a few nights in their own hotel. They would then hire a few additional employees and make changes for comfort, not just visual appeal.

The property is "old chic" with old big band music playing in some public areas. The bar and restaurant were cool and packed with people when we were there, but we were seated in the restaurant without having a reservation. The hallway by the rooms was kind of dark at night adding to the spooky aura (the hotel is supposed to be haunted). It was bright during the day because of the skylights. The room was decorated with old style furniture and such, but was clean and comfortable. The front desk folks were nice and knowledgeable.
