I had a wonderful stay at this hotel recently and was truly impressed by the friendly and enthusiastic reception staff! Oaks Townsville rooms are very good, the staff are friendly and my room was maintained/cleaned exceptionally well. Only small concern was that free internet isn’t included in the payment for the room, you can pay a small on-line fee for access.

Staff were lovely. One bedroom apartment was comfortable, well-laid out with well-equipped kitchen, washing machine in the spacious bathroom and king-sized bed. Pool area nice. Quiet and very well-located, very close walking distance to restaurants, pubs, stadium etc.

Our stay was off to a disappointing start when we were checking in the hotel took a much larger security deposit than what was confirmed on my booking. Upon questioning the amount I was told it was because there was a concert on in town that night.

Room smelt on arrival and had to open balcony door to air out. Bath spout is nearly off, it has been bogged on. Toilet roll holder doesn’t hold toilet paper as is moving. Had to pay 2 x $100 deposits has had two bookings for consecutive nights and stayed in same room.

Our vehicle didn’t fit into the carpark. Too tall. Made parking difficult during the day. After hours was fine as there was adequate loading bays to park in.
