My two FAVORITE things: 1. The window covering actually keeps ALL of the light out! (It's encased in a track so NO LIGHT sneaks in!) Yay! 2. The "do not disturb" sign is actually a MAGNET to stick to the door frame and not an annoying door hanger that falls off every time you open the door! The breakfast was average - maybe a little below expectations (very watery orange juice and no waffle-making station).

The Avid chain is new and is basically a copy of contemporary European budget business hotels with some American-style downgrades and upgrades. You get a meager breakfast, but you get a huge TV. It’s an OK chain for an overnight business stay off the highway but Traverse City is a vacation spot. The rooms are tiny and there is no storage. You get four hangers on hooks on a wall. That’s it. You get one desk chair and a bed. Basically, you’re forced to live out of your suitcase in an austere not at all homey hotel. Plus in Traverse City, the room rates are high, not at all budget. The place is clean and the staff is friendly, but this is an odd duck of a hotel in a town where you want to relax and unwind for a few days.

We let cleaning service in our room second day to get clean towels. Did a great job cleaning but left 2 dirty washcloths and did not refill body was dispenser. Room was smaller then expected and no closet or chest of drawers for our cloths, this was very disappointing. We ended up shortening our stay by 3 days and went somewhere else.
