Redwood trip

The location of the house was beautiful, the accomodations were just what we needed for our stay, had everything we needed-even got to take a trip back in memory lane, which was awesome! Watched Jurassic Park on VHS! Loved it! We really enjoyed our stay! Would stay there again!

Views! Space! Plan Ahead for Coffee Shops

I did not think the online photos did the property justice. The space was roomier than I expected. There are views from every single window. The easy chair was comfortable, but noisy getting in and out of. Moonstone Grill is a must for dining! The town of Trinidad is quaint, adorable, and has many local artists! It's definitely a VRBO to bring my family back to in the future. Down side: It was not just in Trinidad, but almost every coffee shop we went to in northern California closed by 4:00 to 5:00. If I was late getting coffee for my afternoon crash, I was SOL. =D

Great location but the house is so-so

I give the property location and views a 10 out of 10. Unfortunately, the house itself is far from great. It seems that the house, bathrooms, kitchen, and furnishings haven't been updated in a very long time. The windows were dirty and detracted from the lovely views. I would be okay with the house if it was at a lower price point but at these prices I would hope for a little more care to be put into the place.

View to die for.

What a great stay! Exactly as described and even better. I'm almost afraid to say how much we loved the property in fear that it will always be rented. (Haha). Great bed nice towels and plenty of storage space. I wish we could have stayed longer. My dogs were in Heven to be able to go with us. Can't wait till next year. Thank you.

Spectacular view

The location was amazing, and everything was better than we expected. Our group even said it was nicer than the photos. Easy access to the national park, incredible view (when it's clear & sunny), private/secluded location, great for dogs to run around in the yard, very effective heating. Yes, the house looks like something out of the 70s or 80s and the furniture is dated, but overall the house is in good shape and well-equipped (we were able to cook breakfast & grill dinner for 5 without issue). My only complaint is: the amount of time I had to spend before check-in to sign contracts, get the charges right, read a myriad of emails, confirm the code, etc was *a lot* for ~40 hours in the house.

Spectacular Views!

The highlight of the property is the stunning view of the ocean. The location is great (near town, groceries, restaurants, beach, etc). And a great launching point for hiking. I would suggest considering replacing the carpets for hard floors, since pets are allowed, there's a scent on the carpet. Otherwise, the property is phenomenal.

Great Vacation Getaway

Beautiful views of Trinidad Bay & Coastline, none better . Enjoyed by comfortable, clean , safe, house with a large back yard. Older home at very reasonable rental charge, well-equipped with everything you need , & everything works The host property manager Hope M. was excellent, friendly, helpful , & very responsive . The location was private,secluded, & close to the beach that you can hear the lovely surf. Everything was close by as well . Of note Murphys Market has everything including fishing license should you want to brave ocean fishing as you’re quickly catch your limit guided by the Best fisherman of Calif, ask for Mark ! We really appreciated that it was one few pet friendly houses Thank You and we will request to return to Sunset Knoll at Sunrise again

Fabulous view, but obstructed.

The main draw of this property is the view. It is admittedly gorgeous, very wide and mostly unobstructed, at least not by trees or houses. However, if you sit on the deck, there is a thick wood railing exactly at eye level, obstructing the view. You must stand up or bend down to see an unobstructed view. This was disappointing, because the photos in the listing do not show or admit to this. The railing is probably required by code, but the owner could resolve it by providing bar height table and chairs. The view is better from the back yard, but there is no lawn furniture there, except a straight backed uncomfortable wooden bench. The interior of the house is okay, but very outdated, (around 1970's I think) with carpet throughout, some of it with stains. The shower downstairs is horrible. It sprays out at a defined angle and cannot be adjusted. If you are an average height woman it sprays directly in your face and the stall is so tiny there is no place to get under it without that happening. For the price paid, you would think the owners could make just a few small adjustments for visitors' comfort. Add barstools and lawn furniture, get rid of the carpet or at least clean it, put in a new shower head. Also, the part of the listing that says there is a beach a 1/4 mile walk away is somewhat misleading. We asked how to get there and were told it is unmarked and is a steep slope down, and that other beaches in the area were recommended as being better. We appreciate the honesty at that time, but the listing should not imply there is a nice beach and easy walk away. The property managers were very nice and responsive to questions, and we do appreciate that honesty when asked.

This property had the most amazing views! We spent most of our time at a larger home next door but utilized this home for sleeping. It was comfortable and clean and could easily have the best views on the street!

Amazing family vacation at the perfect spot!

The house is beautiful and has everything you need for a lovely vacation. I stayed with my husband and three year old, my parents and brother. Plenty of space for everyone. And the location and view can’t be beat.

Great location, great house and kindly staffs. But one thing makes my wife a little upset, all cooking pans, dishes, cups are old and scratched. And no cooking oil and salt when we got there. We had to buy by ourselves.

Amazing view but needs a little updating.

The property is set in an amazing location with an absolute breathtaking view of the entire bay. The woods surround the house with a massive tree swing, great for the kids. Once inside the house the interior is very dated and smelled very musty. The property is clean, well as clean as you can make it. The carpet and interior has not been updated since the 90's or 80's. For the price it needs a remodel, furniture from a thrift store. Towel rails in the bathroom made of wood so old the varnish has faded and it is slowly molding. Such a beautiful property deserves a remodel. WiFi was great, water was hot, but the 30 year old furnace struggled at night. Management were easily reached if help was needed. We enjoyed the stay and the view, please give the place the updating it deserves. Thanks for the memories.

Fab View, Fab Place, Fun Times

I had read other reviews that this property had a great view, but it really was Amazing with a capital A. Fabulous deck to enjoy incredible sunsets and prepare great bbq dinners. House layout worked really well - 3 bedrooms for the 6 of us though there are 2 other spaces (loft) and pull out coach where 2 more people could sleep. We hiked down to Baker Beach about 1/4 mile below the property which was fun. The local town in Trinidad was fun with great restaurants, and lots of beaches, and places to rent kayaks. Also want to add in the backyard of the property facing the beach there is a picnic table which is a wonderful space to have your meals outside. Living area space worked great as did kitchen. All in all - Fab view, Fab Place, Fun times.

Beautiful Setting

This property exceeded our expectations in numerous ways, with the setting and view being our favorite things. The online photos do not do justice to the view from the back, and the quiet and secluded setting made our time relaxing while we caught up with our friends.

Fun Filled Adventure

We had a great time at this house. It is just a short walk to the beach from the house and the views are incredible. Jonna was very friendly and quick to respond to questions. The binder in the house had a lot of good information about activities in the area and restaurants. We will definitely stay here again.

The location and view are even better than advertised!

The property is simply furnished but had everything needed for us to comfortably enjoy our stay. Preparing and enjoying meals while taking in some of the best scenery imaginable is tough to beat. In addition to the spectacular views, the location offers complete privacy and close access to the small town of Trinidad and surrounding beaches and redwood forests.

Wonderful place!

What a magical place! The view from the back deck is one of the best I've ever seen in my life. House was very clean and comfortable. We hiked every day in the Redwood National Park and the park is only a short drive from the house. Would definitely recommend highly, and we hope to go back!

BFF’s Birthday Celebration!

The house was clean and comfortable with plenty of seating for lounging around. We spent a lot of time outside on the balcony which has the most amazing views and were treated to a clear night complete with shooting stars (magic)! The surrounding property is beautiful and perfect for viewing the setting sun. We enjoyed the tree swing every day, feeling like kids again! It was the perfect get away and home away from home.
