We treated ourselves to a booking at Mantra after arriving on a 34 hour trip from London. From our arrival and throughout the evening and overnight bin bags of rubbish and bags of dirty sheets were left in the hallway leading to our room. Mantra CHARGE FOR WIFI unless you join their loyalty scheme. We didn't realise this until arrival (because who charges for wifi??) even though it is on the listing. We joined the loyalty scheme but had issues connecting. We telephoned reception and they staff member we spoke to was rude and unhelpful. Completely unexpected for this company that fancies itself as a premium resort. So we couldn't contact any friends and family to let them know we had arrived for their wedding. 8 hours later after dinner we were able to speak to another staff member who immediately gave us access. We requested a quiet room but were placed next to a large family with a baby and other small children and they were not quiet at all which was foreseeable. The room was nice and clean although there was only a sheet on the bed and a blanket in the cupboard and it was a freezing cold winter's night. It was clear the staff just don't care. The view was nice. The beach nearby is stunningly beautiful. And the local cafe around the corner was amazing. Worth a stay if you are prepared to compromise appalling service for a nice area. I'd recommend trying somewhere else in the area.
