Newly built in 2022, the Ironworks complex sits in the ground of the former industrial Ironworks on the banks of the River Leven. The ironworks produced iron and steel from 1711 until its closure in 1966. The Smelting Pot is a modern apartment that spans two floors. The ground floor is the social space for family or friends to get together and cook a meal in the modern kitchen or perhaps enjoy a few drinks on the patio while the kids stream their favourite TV series—the choice is yours. The Ironworks complex is located between the two villages of Backbarrow and Haverthwaite and just 2.5 miles from Lakeside at the southern tip of Lake Windermere, where you can hop onboard one of the Windermere Lake Cruises and sail up the Lake to Bowness, Brockhole or further to Ambleside.
