A must stay to get away

I recently had the pleasure of staying at The Westin Bear Mountain Golf Resort & Spa, and I can confidently say it exceeded my expectations in every way. Nestled in the stunning landscapes of Vancouver Island, the resort offers breathtaking mountain views, world-class amenities, and an overall luxurious experience. The accommodations were top-notch—spacious, well-appointed rooms with comfortable Heavenly Beds, modern decor, and private balconies overlooking the golf course and surrounding nature. The attention to detail in the room design made for a truly relaxing stay. The golf course is undoubtedly one of the highlights. Designed by Jack and Steve Nicklaus, it provides a challenging yet enjoyable experience for golfers of all levels. The scenic backdrop of rolling hills and lush greenery makes every round a memorable one. For those looking to unwind, the Amatista Spa is a must-visit. The spa services were exceptional, offering a range of treatments that left me feeling rejuvenated. The outdoor terrace with mountain views was the perfect place to relax post-treatment. Dining at Bella was another highlight. The food was fresh and beautifully prepared, with a menu that showcased local ingredients. Whether it was breakfast with a view or a fine dining experience in the evening, the service and quality were outstanding. The resort’s staff were incredibly welcoming and attentive, ensuring that every aspect of my stay was seamless.

Mobile A/C units in room to try to maintain temp (in Feb?) All three elliptical machines in the gym didn't work. Staff were terrific. Off season so I'm sure it would be better in spring/summer.

I pushed L for lobby and was taken to a lower lobby. My key did not work to come back up in the elevator. I walked the entire lower lobby looking for stairs. Finally found a set outside the building. Took me forever to get to the front desk and explain what had happened. They just made new cards and indicated that it wouldn’t happen again. Well it did. I was stuck the elevator the second night because my keys didn’t work and the elevator doors wouldn’t open. I had to call the elevator phone and they had a guy open the door.Again front desk just gave me new keys promising they would work. Next night power failure at the resort. Had to do 5 flights of stairs and given a lantern and told Jane a good night. Lastly the hotel breakfast come with salad green instead of fruit because fruit is to expensive to serve to the guests.

Property is beautiful and the views are lovely. Staff was very welcoming and helpful. We enjoyed a delicious dinner overlooking the hills with great service from the restaurant staff as well. The room was clean, spacious and the beds were comfortable. Our main issue was that the hot tub was over heated and unusable, which was unfortunate as that was our main reason for booking. We had gone on a long hike and all we were looking forward to was a nice soak. I even called two weeks prior to make sure the hot tub was working. It was just unfortunate timing for us. There could have been better signage for the hot tub and fitness facility but overall it’s a lovely property in a gorgeous setting. The parking price is ridiculous since there is parking nearby at no cost. I’d still book to stay again because I think the hot tub was a fluke and the setting and staff create a welcoming and peaceful vibe.
