We arrived after a grueling 6-hour drive at 2:30PM. The staff would not allow us to check in until 3:00. We had to unload all our gear from the car into a cramped storage closet, then unload it 30 minutes later. There was absolutely no reason for this other than a mindless adherence to policy. Then, when we eventually got to our room we discovered that it had no window. We requested a room with a window and were told that only the suites have windows. I then requested a suite and said I'd pay the difference in price. They said "no", so I said I'd book an additional night, two nights in the suite, a win-win offer. They said "no" again because the registration form had already been completed. As you can see from these two examples, the staff at this hotel has been trained to follow rules rather than provide customer service. We booked a room at the Sleep Inn and the vibe is totally better.

The hotel is just two blocks from the ADO bus station so it is ideal for someone who needs a place to stay for the night while in transit. The room was tidy, the beds comfortable. The bathroom could use some repair but we appreciated the ample supply of hot water for showers. Although the room didn't have any kind of a view there's a broad vista from the fourth floor restaurant. The food there was good, and like the room itself, affordable.

We booked this hotel by chance. We were pleasantly surprised by the quality of service at the hotel. For Mexico, this is an example of a good hotel where you want to return. For us, the presence of a coffee maker in the room was a bonus. We were given a room with a balcony overlooking the city and the cathedral. This left us with pleasant memories of this city.

About 20 min. Drive from airport. Clean, quiet, food room service (I did not try the food) from the restaurant within the hotel. This is not a luxurious hotel. It is a good place to sleep over for one night or two. Personnel is not helpful providing information about the area, but there are places to eat and small stores to purchase essentials at walking distance.

OK, but...

The hotel was a little tired - towels frayed, electric sockets not straight in the walls. The key-cards for the room-doors repeatedly failed - I took to calling at the reception desk each time I came in to get mine revalidated before going upstairs, so I wouldn't have the frustration of finding my door unopenable and having to trek downstairs again. The room windows don't tend to face outside, just into dingy internal light wells. And it could be quite loud - poor sound insulation let noise from other guests into the room at all hours. But the staff were helpful and the wi-fi good.

Bare minimum comfort

It’s a place to sleep, but not much more. It’s missing some basic comfort. The Wi-Fi only worked in the lobby and it was not able to reach the guest room. The parking garage can not fit a SUV and the staff said parking on the street is unsafe.

I did not enjoy my stay. The cleaning lady knocked twice even after I told her I didn’t need my room to be cleaned. She then checked the bathroom as if I were hiding someone there. The mirror in the bathroom was dirty and my key suddenly stopped working. Will not come back.
