This hotel is not getting our business again. The free breakfast was in no way free, it was a $12 credit against an overpriced meal. We used 4 of the free meals the second morning, (the first morning they were understaffed and we were in too much of a rush to wait),with each of us ordering the standard “all American breakfast” priced at $15. (Eggs, meat, potatoes, toast). Only two of us ordered beverages, one coffee, one milk. With tip our free breakfast cost us $40. To make matters worse, the food was so unappetizing, we left the majority uneaten. We paid less for better food the remaining mornings at the chocolate cafe nearby for the non free breakfast ($35). In addition, for a 4 night stay we never received housekeeping. We were informed at check in we would have cleaning after night 3, blaming being short staffed, but it never happened. Apparently you have to do an additional request for the service. Needless to say, 4 people family in town to ski, in a two queen room, one little soap and shampoo, 3 bath towels, garbage never being removed, etc. is ridiculous at this price, and not a property I would rate as premium. We ended up just dumping our overflowing garbage in the hallway and taking towels from the pool. I worked in the travel industry for over a decade, and this hotel is one of the most disappointing stays I’ve ever had. Avoid this property at all costs if staying more than one night, and skip the “free” breakfast-and most likely the char house altogether.

We stay at this property 1-2 times a year since 2017. We ski at granite peak. The jefferson has the best location - can wall to politos,ciaos or malarkeys… drive to mountain is literally 10 minutes. The rooms are big, appropriately prices, and in good working order. The pool is great for kids. There are some changes this year , room cleaning / towels etc is every 3rd day. Which i felt was a step down and property should consider reverting to its prior routine. Again i wouldnt stay elsewhere and feel that the hotel is perfect for us

The front desk staff were all friendly and very helpful. The facility was well kept up and clean. Likewise, the room itself was clean. Although I did not need it this trip, there was actually a microwave in the room, which is becoming a rare entity and most motels. If I had one improvement, I could have suggested for that room, it would’ve been to have a floor lamp at the end of the couch. The overhead lighting was not the greatest for reading on the couch. I definitely would stay here again.

The wife and I stay there with each visit to Wausau. We absolutely love the place. It's got a classy feel, always clean, beds are very comfy, and the location downtown is excellent for walks to restaurants, music, and shopping. It's our go-to when visiting the area.

Jacob at the Char restaurant off the lobby was fantastic! He re-opened the kitchen for my wife and I to get meal after long day of travel. The staff in the kitchen were very gracious to stay longer and prepare our meal. The front desk staff was great also. Wausau received 6inches of snow over night and they had the parking lot cleared in the morning.

We got a free upgrade as I was an Expedia VIP. Nice large room with hot tub. Breakfast was good but was supposed to be open at 7am but didn't open until 9am. Also, instead of free breakfast it was a $15 credit. But it was nice to order from the menu and food was excellent.
