In a peaceful location at the end of a quiet farm lane, these cottages enjoy views across open pastureland. Careful conversion of a Cumbrian sandstone stable block has preserved fine original features and the patio offers a haven for relaxation. The village of West Newton and the town of Aspatria are both about 1½ miles away. The cottages lie 5 miles from sandy beaches and the west Cumbrian coastline. Silloth (10 miles) is a Victorian seaside resort and has an excellent golf course. To the south lie the old shipping ports of Maryport and Whitehaven with marinas and museums. The Lake District town of Cockermouth, 12 miles, is easily accessible, as is Keswick, which can be reached via routes alongside Bassenthwaite Lake with its famous osprey view point. Keswick is a shopping town with markets, as well as a lakeside theatre on Derwent Water, where boat trips can be taken. There is easy access to Carlisle and the myriad attractions, spectacular scenery and walking and cycle routes of the Lake District National Park, ensures that Pasture Farm makes an ideal holiday destination.

Really nice cottage with 4 double bedrooms all a good size.

Really nice cottage with 4 double bedrooms all a good size. Bathroom and bedroom on ground floor handy if stairs are a problem for any of the guests. Kitchen, diner and lounge a bit small, the furniture was a bit past it's best. The table wobbled, a chair was broken and the fridge fittings were broken. Some of the kitchen equipment was also not great, pans etc. However it was well equipped with dish washer, microwave, toaster fridge and fan oven. Outside was a paved garden metal fenced all around. Picture of the garden shows a lovely wooden garden set we had a metal set with was rusty. The view is from the garden is onto ploughed fields and hedgerows with wind turbines and two lines of power pylons close by.Location very quiet and peaceful. Local town of Aspatria 1.5 miles has food shops, garage and a chippy (Thursday, Friday & Saturday). Allonby 4 miles away on coast has miles of sandy beach at low tide and a super local home made ice cream shop. Cockermouth is 10 miles which gives easy access the the north western lakes, Bassenthwaite, Loweswater, Buttermere, Crummock Water, Ennerdale Water and Wast Water. Solway Coast (Start of Hadrain's Wall at Bowness) 15 miles and Carlisle 18 miles.
