Spacious Historical Home 3 mins from Downtown

Nestled in the historical Washington Park neighborhood, this renovated 1910 home allows you the opportunity to experience life from an earlier era, without sacrificing modern conveniences or decor. Only 3 mins from downtown, it’s conveniently located to most everything you’d need. Whether you are visiting the School of the Arts or the Old Salem Museum, you’ll appreciate how centrally located it is.

This home is made up of a kitchen, 2 living room areas, a dining room, 4 bedrooms, 3.5 bathrooms and 4 fireplaces (not in operation). The hardwood floors are original from the 1910’s. It’s also now pet friendly so you can bring up to two furry friends.

The Master bedroom has more than enough space to comfortably sleep 2. As you walk in the room you will notice the fireplace as well as the beautiful Italian Campanile canopy bed (queen), where you’ll be enjoying a good night’s sleep. The room has its own full bathroom with a vintage clawfoot tub and shower head. It also has a modern GE washer/dryer and a small walk-in closet. Best of all it has a 65 inch smart TV so you can sign into your accounts and catch up on your favorite shows.

The Upstairs Suite is a one bedroom suite with a bonus living room, a 65 inch Smart TV, seating space, a mini fridge and partial views of downtown Winston Salem. It also has an en suite full bathroom and a small closet with hangers. The bedroom has 2 queen beds and a sofa bed (sleeps 4-5).

The two other upstairs bedrooms each has 2 queen beds and can sleep 4 people each. They face the south side of the house and have garden views. They both share a common full bathroom with a fun & colorful stain glass façade and a stand alone tub & shower.

The Kitchen is stocked with all the tools necessary for preparing a wholesome family meal with counter height stools and a fireplace to encourage conversation. Among some of the items available, there are a full set of copper bottom pans, Vitamix blender, toaster, microwave, utensils for cooking and eating, basic spices, a tea kettle with various tea options, etc.

The dining room has been updated with a beautiful cherry wood table with red accented chairs and modern lighting. Contrasted with the white pillar fireplace and original hardwood floors which helps highlight the historical background of the home. This room can not only be used for sharing a meal, but also to play some of the various board games available (Uno, Settlers of Catan, Monopoly Deal among others).

And Lastly after all that activity, move over to the main living room area and relax on the spacious sectional or chaise lounge chair as dimmer candles create the perfect ambiance from the fireplace.

Guests have access to the main home and all the rooms within it. They also have shared access to the deck and the backyard. There is a separate apartment with a private entrance in the back that other Airbnb guests use from time to time.

We respect our guests privacy and space. We are however a phone/text/app message away should you need assistance with anything.

Washington Park is a quiet and safe historical neighborhood. Within its borders you can enjoy walking trails, parks, creeks and vintage homes of unique architectural interest. It’s only 3 mins from downtown Winston-Salem, yet it still keeps that quaint, local, family centered feel. Great place for a leisurely stroll with a downtown skyline view every few blocks.

Note that for safety purposes there is a video doorbell on this listing which records only when it detects motion outside the front door. The detached unit in the back also has a video doorbell at its entrance. There are no cameras inside the home.
For the consideration of the neighbors and future guests, we kindly ask the following:
* Quiet hours begin at 11:00 pm
* Any overnight guest not declared on the reservation will be charged a $40 per night fee.
* If something breaks or gets damaged, please notify us.
* There is a $50 fee if the property is still occupied 30 mins after check-out time. If still occupied 2 hours post check-out, then a full day will be charged at base rate (without discounts). Note this doesn’t grant guests possession of the property as we may have other guests scheduled to arrive that day.
*Please do not put signs outside the home.

Checkout Instructions: Please take out the trash and start the dish washer. The cleaners will take care of the rest.

We love hosting your furry friends! To ensure our home stays beautiful for all future guests (and to keep your pet safe), we ask that you follow these simple guidelines:

Thoughtfulness above all: We generally welcome well-behaved, house-trained dogs.

Supervision is Key: Pets must not be left unattended in the home unless they are secured in a crate. If your pet is prone to barking, please do not leave them alone, as we want to remain good neighbors.

Paws Off the Furniture & Beds: To ensure future guests can also have a positive experience, we ask that pets remain off furniture/sofa and beds.

Historical Care: Because this home features original hardwood floors, please ensure your pet’s nails are trimmed to prevent scratching.

Outdoor Etiquette: Please pick up all pet waste immediately. A dedicated waste bin and bags are provided in the backyard for your convenience.

Fleas & Ticks: For the health of our home and other guests, pets must be up-to-date on flea and tick prevention.

Reporting Accidents: We understand accidents happen! Please let us know immediately so we can treat the area with professional-grade, pet-safe cleaners to avoid permanent staining.

Any pets not disclosed in the reservation are subject to $100 fee.
