Automated check in not working properly - and 1 member of staff to help around 15 people. Staff in bar & restaurant really slow & struggling to cope with only a few customers. Bed REALLY uncomfortable and heating not working properly.

Good but could be better

Breakfast buffet very good, staff helpful, car park issues took ages to get into car park on arrival. Cleanliness in bathroom ok, eg showerhead appeared rusty and dirty, extractor fan very dusty, cob webs and dust above mirror and on ceiling.

My room could have been described as the TARDIS. Very tight. No room to swing a cat in the toilet/shower area. The tap was loose from its moorings. A shower head meant that it was extremely difficult to take a shower if you don’t want to wash hair at the same time. No wardrobe in the room. Not impressed

A pleasant stay.

The hotel was ideal for being in the centre of York by the river giving easy access to the city. Unfortunately we were put in a twin room instead of the double I booked, the toilet seat was not attached and the television kept cutting out with only two channels available. We were duly given an upgraded room. The staff were efficient but the hotel felt somewhat soulless, where I prefer a more friendly touch. Parking is of a premium at any central York hotel so it was very good having discounted hotel secure parking, as available. The room price is reasonable considering the siting of the hotel.
